Her Life
December 13, 2012

Carolyn, a long time resident of the Valley was the daughter of the late Mary Frances and Thomas Jones of West Point, GA and was the sister of the late John Wallace Jones, also of West Point.

She is survived by her spouse, F. Jerry Cook, Sr. of Shawmut, two sons, Forrest Jerry Cook, Jr. and Karl Richard Cook, both of Birmingham, AL; sister in law, Jackie Seymour Jones of West Point, GA and her family - nephew Bob Jones and great niece Haley and great nephew Connor Jones, all of Kansas City, MO. as well as other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews located in the Valley, other parts of Georgia and in California. In addition, Carolyn is survived by her beloved pets “Miss Priss” and “Tinkerbell” and two incredible “angels” that have became part of her family, Dana Martin and Jeffrey Jackson.

Carolyn was a beloved wife and mother, residing in the Chattahoochee Valley all her life. She attended Huntingdon College and Auburn University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Carolyn for many years worked with both Valley National and Citizens National Banks. She had a great love of people and never met a stranger; and also had a great love and appreciation for her gardens and flowers and spent many hours creating beautiful plantings and arrangements. She also loved beautiful things of quality…including friendships, loved to play bridge with friends and was an independent soul always there to help others when needed. She had a deep appreciation for the value of education and ensured her family had the best available to them and continued to value and recognize the accomplishments and developments of friends and family members. Carolyn was a member of the First Christian Church of Lanett, AL.

Carolyn was a brave and strong individual, who had conquered breast cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, congestive heart failure and several other injuries over the last few years. She proved brave, strong and determined through her final days, and she will be missed…just as she was loved…by many.
