I am Carolyn's cousin and she, my dad and I all shared the same birth date. I miss all of our times together in Thalia, TX. I was able to visit with her in Dallas at Nan Sues house the last trip she made. I have posted some pictures of her on the D M Shultz Sr facebook page.

Our mother would be 77 years old today. If she were with us today she would be so proud of all her grandchildren. And she would be looking forward to spending Christmas with one of her boys and their families. I know that our daughters always looked forward to time with "Grambo." Perhaps now...she can spend Christmas with all of us.

I remember so many good times -- in the Quad Cities, on trips, lunches with mutual friends, walks, talks, laughs (for example when we changed our clothes in a restroom stall in London .. so we could be properly attired to attend a London Rotary Club luncheon!)

You lived life fully, Carolyn. May you rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Carolyn's passing. She was a great Rotarian and friend. I was the one who gave her a laugh in changing her lightbulbs in her A frame house. She had a laugh as it took one Rotarian, me, to change it and about 15 to hold the ladder. My deepest condolences to the family, she will be missed.

I learned so much Carolyn about what it means to be a Rotarian. Most importantly, she taught me that you can accomplish anything with a litter persistence and dedication. Without her persistence, the president of Rotary International never would have visited the Quad Cities, and we all know what a special night that was! She will be forever missed!

Carolyn was a great teacher of optimism and positive thinking. That coupled with her enthusiasm for new adventures and her boundless heart for family and friends leave a big hole with her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
