Her Life
February 27, 2014

Death has moved this earthly home to an eternal home, where there will be no more tears, pain, or sorrow for our dear loved mother.

On February 23, 2014 at the West Georgia Hospice, God sent his angel to peacefully escort our mom to heaven.

Carrie Mae Reed was born in Chambers County, Alabama on February 25, 1918 to the parentage of the late Mr. Isom and Minnie Boazman.

She attended schools in Chambers County, Alabama and West Point, GA. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at the early age of nine years old and joined the Greenwood Baptist Church in Lanett, AL.

She was joined into holy wedlock to Joe Reed, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Reed devoted her life to Greenwood Baptist Church, where she was a very faithful member until her health began to fail. She served in many capacities in the church including Senior Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Society Secretary, Nurse’s Guild President, and Matron of the Counsel at Bowen East District. If you knew “our mom” then you knew how much she loved Greenwood Baptist Church.

A lifelong resident of West Point GA she was actively involved in the community, serving for many years as Vice President of the Parent Teacher Association at Harrison High School during our school years. Our mother worked diligently outside and inside the home. Her passion for sewing was a longtime dream. She sewed until her health began to fail.

She leaves four children, Erma Morbley (Cornelius J.) of Las Vegas NV, Ervwin Reed (Mary) of LaGrange GA; Malinda Carter of LaGrange GA, and Ben Edward Reed of West Point GA; one god daughter, Sarah Clark of New York NY, who she loved and cherished dearly; one sister, Robin Jackson of Anniston AL, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.
Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
