Carrie Sue (Rabinowitsch) Coddington, 71, passed away at home in Toms River, NJ, on 8/19/19 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, and lived in Howell, NJ, where she started Paul Avon Adjustment (using the alias Paul Avon), which later grew into Coddington Adjustment Company.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent P. “Champ” Coddington, Jr., the love of her life, who she married on their 6th date, 48 years ago. They lived in Yonkers, NY and Peekskill, NY before moving to Howell, NJ where they lived for the past 40 years.
She is also survived by her daughter, Laura Lisa Coddington-Cottrell and her husband, Kenneth; her children: Jayde E. Bollman, his wife Shay and daughter, Lily; Chance M. Bollman and his son, Phoenix; Sage Bollman and his wife, Felicity; and Paisley Mae Coddington-Cottrell; and her grandchildren: Johnny, Jocylin, Amelia, Nickoli, Ezekiel, Peyton, Debaray, Dezeray, and Kyle.
She is also survived by a large and loving extended family including her siblings, Robert Rabinowitsch, his wife, Veronica and daughter, Ariana; David Rabinowitsch and his husband, Bill and their son, Michael; Solomon Rabinowitsch and his wife, Stacey, and their children, Graham, Phoebe and Evan; Joy Rabinowitsch Veron, whose husband Michael is predeceased, and their daughter, Amy; and a step brother, Larry Sky and his sons, Joshua and Dustin; and her best friend and acclaimed sister, Terry Pollack and her husband, Richie.
She was predeceased by her son, Vincent Paul (Vinny) Coddington, III; and a great granddaughter, Luna Rose Bollman.
Carrie Sue was the CFO of Coddington Adjustment Co., where she combined business sense with a personal touch and friendship with employees and clients, for over 40 years.
She is a member of the Insurance Professions of Monmouth County, TARA (Truck Frame & Axle Repair Association), and participated with her husband in the NTHECC (National Truck & Heavy Equipment Claims Council).
She, along with her husband, were very active with the Shriners, and the Shriners Hospitals for Children, participating in many fund-raising events and activities. She was a member of the Ocean County Shrine Ladies and a supporter of the Crescent Shrine Mini Cars and the Ocean County Shrine Club.
Carrie Sue was often the center of all activities; with a laugh you could hear throughout the crowd that never failed to make others smile. She shared her love of music and theater with everyone around her, and was always first in line to help anyone who needed a hand.
She was very proud of the fact that she was one of the originators of the environmental movement and the creation of Earth Day. She was the 3rd signature on the forming declaration for Earth Day along with Mayor Lindsey of NYC.
The family will be hosting Shiva at their Toms River residence, 2358 W. Ashfield Ct. (Lake Ridge Adult Community), between noon and 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21st to Friday, August 23rd.
An invitation is extended to her family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched to join in the celebration of her life at a memorial service on Tuesday, August 27th from 4:00PM to 6:00 PM at the Lakewood Funeral Home, 6250 Highway 9, Howell, NJ 07731.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and earmarked for their special project and/or an environmental group of your choice.
