Catharyn was a wonderful and special lady and a cherished member of our family. We know she's in Heaven and will forever be in our hearts. Rest in Peace and God bless. The Blunt family.
Such a GREAT TRIBUTE! I met this nice lady only once but was wonderful pleasure to meet! I’ve heard so many stories about her thru her daughter Essie and it seems there was never a dull moment. Brought many of smiles to my face. God truly got an angel that I’m sure will truly be missed here on earth but will never be forgotten! Rest In Peace and Heaven Mrs Cathryn!

Catharyn Louise Howard was born on February 15th 1927 to Addie Bell Washington and Hammie Howard in Navasota, Texas. She lived in Navasota until she graduated high school. After she graduated, she married Ardell Stone in 1947 and lived in other places before settling in Wichita, Kansas. Her and Ardell Stone had one daughter they named Essie Victoria. She had various jobs but her longest job was in domestic services. She never drove and used public transportation and walked to places she needed to get to. Family loving called her "Cat". She might of been short in stature but don't let that fool you because she was not one to be messed with. She was a lifelong Christian who loved the Lord. Very independent, strong and resilient. She had many ailments throughout life but that did not keep this "young" lady down. Beautiful smile and nice legs to boot. She departed this life on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the age of 94. She leaves behind her daughter Essie, granddaughter Tremetrice (Metrice), and two great grandchildren Davontre and Janiyah whom she affectionately called her "sweet little angels" and a host of relatives.
I remember Ms. Catharyn from my childhood, she had that look of "I'll whip you and take you to your mother and tell her why. " It's hard to believe that she's gone but will never be forgotten. To the family Essie you are still my sister and I will always be here for you. God Bless you all. Amen
