TIME HEALS WOUNDS:

As you mark the 1st year memorial of your mom's transition to eternity, I pray that the Holy Spirit the Comforter, continues to strengthen you and your siblings.

They say Time heals Wounds ...but I know that the scar left from the loss of a mother is always like a fresh wound. May you find hope in the love and compassion you receive from your loving wife and kids.

I set up a little Altar beneath my TV ...where I see my mom's face everyday looking down from heaven and saying to me it's OK, my child.

A mom is ever present around her children no matter the physical distance. Think of the things she has protected your family from, since she passed.
A mom is always watching over her own.

May the soul of Dr. Mrs Catherine Ahuchogu rest in perfect bliss.

Chuka & Sarah...Accept our Sympathy.

From Phil and her kids.

My dearest beloved Aunty Kate,

Oh my goodness! I am so gutted to hear this

I only just stumbled on this online tribute. May your sweet soul rest in perfect peace.

Words cannot even begin to express my sorrow at this news.

I shall miss and love you always. You were always one of my favourite Aunties! Incredibly loving, kind, classy, someone I could open up to and ask questions - knowing I would get straight answers from the heart

My love and prayers go to the family. May Yeshua Hamashiah - Jesus Christ of Nazareth, comfort every one during this time, in the power of Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit). Thinking of all of you and missing you

A RARE GEM.. Dr. C.I. Ahuchogu
Mummy, you were an epitome of strength, wisdom and dedication my mother in love .... a straight to the point, no beating around the bush, caring and attentive woman.

Words are inadequate to express what you meant to me.

The first time,I came looking for Okechukwu, boy was I shocked and truth be told quite scared. Over the years we got closer and I was awed by the ease & dexterity with which you managed the house. There was always warm food at the table. I felt like a part of the family when I took part in my first Sunday lunch

Thank you for all the memories.

Your advice and support during my first pregnancy... twenty years ago was invaluable.

With hindsight now having 3 boys, Okey and I are ever grateful for you.

Your legacy won't be forgotten. Forever in our hearts ♥️

The little time I spent with you was indeed a memorable one and I truly felt the love of a grandmother. Aunty Kate,

I can’t believe you are gone. Growing up, your presence was always larger than life. Your voice will boom all over the house when you visited us in Owerri. We always knew someone special was coming when my mom starts buying fresh fish to make nsala soup. We were always excited to have you stay because we knew you had gifts to share. You and my mom will jist and jist and then when the both of you will laugh and start speaking yoruba, then the ‘akuko’ has entered another gear for the enjoyment of two of you alone.

One of the lasting memories I have of you, you welcomed me with open arms when I was leaving the country through Lagos. At the Airport, you scolded the airline agents for trying to collect bribe from me to allow me carry food stuff. I laughed at the way they retreated from the embarrassment you lashed at them. You are truly a formidable woman. Adieu Aunty. Rest peacefully in the Lord and dance with your sisters and all the angel and saints in heaven. Your niece, Chinweze Nnodim

A Tribute To My Beloved Mother, Dr (Mrs) Catherine Idu Ahuchogu.

My mum, my first teacher, my first confidant, my first guide,my first priest. To the world, you might have been one person but to me you were the world.

I knew it had to happen at some point. It’s the circle of life. You are born. You live. You die.

You became ill after your 70th birthday in 2008. You fought a good fight.

Where do i start, as your first fruit i was always in the forefront. From my primary school days to my university days you were always by my side.

You made sure i and my siblings received the first holy communion and sacrament of confirmation. You also made sure all of us were mass servants.
We attended mass together every Sunday.
You also made sure we had Sunday lunch together. Your soup (ofe nsala) with pounded yam was the best. My siblings and i always looked forward to it. Even when we all had cricket matches on Sunday you still kept our lunch for us to eat when we returned.

Mummy how can i forget my first day in boarding school. You took me to kings college Lagos with daddy. You made sure i had all the comfort i needed. You never missed any visiting day, inter house sports, prize giving day etc.

You encouraged me to take part in so many sports like cricket, soccer, hockey, squash, lawn tennis, swimming and table tennis.
I remember playing squash with you in ikoyi club.

You were very strict. We had our fights. I understand now why you had to be like that. You gave us strict instructions anytime we go on vacations to the village. Do not eat anywhere else apart from our grandmother’s house.

You loved pets, we had dogs and cats in the house.
I remember you also had a poultry in all the places we resided Enugu, Victoria island and festac.

You were in the labour room during the birth of my three children. You made sure you took charge of what was happening in the labour room.

When my children started kindergarten and primary school you made sure you picked them from school at the close of school every day.
You prepared lunch for them, helped them with their home work and you made sure they had their dinner after their shower.
Your grandchildren always looked forward to seeing you everyday.

You were an exceptional paediatrician. You showed this by your love for children.
Anytime i was at Massey street children’s hospital to pick you up, the staff always said good things about Mama as they fondly called you. My friends that are medical doctors that you taught are eternally grateful for the sound base you gave them.

When you retired from civil service you continued your medical practice in your small clinic behind the main house in festac town.
You attended to a lot of my friends and other people without asking for money. You made sure the children felt better before asking for anything. God bless your soul Ma.

When your beloved husband passed on the 7th August 2004. I got to the hospital with you and i was asked to go in while you were told to wait. You pushed everyone aside and went in before me. I broke down in tears seeing my dad lifeless. You took charge of what was happening and told me that i should stop crying that i should call my siblings immediately and tell them what had happened. You were a strong woman.

You were a devoted catholic, you never missed your morning or evening masses. You belonged to different societies in church like St Anthony of Padua society, Sacred heart,Jdpc and Catholic women organization.
You sponsored a priest through the seminary.

Mummy i have always known you will someday leave us for eternity, but nothing prepared me for the shock i felt when i got the phone call at 6:08am on the 25th of April 2021 confirming you had passed. I know how much you loved your family and i will miss you forever.
My saddest day so far on earth remains the day you passed on, your memories will be treasured forever.

Thank God you were a good Christian and i know you are now with the lord.
I love you so much but JESUS loves you more, may GOD grant you eternal rest.

Your son
Chukwuka Ahuchogu.

TRIBUTE TO A DEAR AUNTY

Dear Cousins,

Please accept my family's heartfelt condolence to you all on the passing of your Mum Dr. Mrs Catherine Idu Ahuchogu. This news was recieved with great sadness. In our grief and sorrow, we also give thanks and praise to God for the blessings and accomplishments of her life.

Aunty Kate was the third of the four daughters born to Mr. & Mrs Fabian Okolo Iwenjora of Umuolodo Ndoni. My own Mum Mrs Agatha Nwachukwu of blessed memory was the youngest.

They all grew up in a close knit Catholic family where hard work, discipline and humility were nutured by their parents. All completed graduate and post graduate studies both in Nigeria and abroad, and went on to excel in their chosen careers. Aunty Kate studying Medicine and becoming an accomplished Doctor was a particular source of pride for the extended family.

This firm upbringing is what she and her late husband Mr Sam Ahuchogu impacted on their five Sons as can be attested to. They in turn are carrying it on with their own children. That grounded upbringing has held them all in good stead.

I especially want to express my profound gratitude for all the assistance Aunty Kate and Uncle Sam provided me during my University years in Lagos from the mid eighties to early nineties. You accomodated me in both your Victoria Island and Festac residences. You gave me the same advice and guidance you gave my cousins.

I thank you too for being a pillar of strenght and support for your Sisters. The special bond you all had meant that you were always there for each other. Family get-togethers were joyous occasions. I remember being amused at how Granny and you 4 would have conversations in Yoruba. Us Children then would be non the wiser, and I assume my Dad and uncle Sam too. My grandfather was based in Ibadan in the 60s, so you all were proficient.

My wife Alison and I have fond memories of you and Uncle Sam's visits to the UK, and our meetings in Nigeria. We will always cherish those.

Finally, I want to give big priase to my cousins for the collective responsibility they have shown to manage their Mum's care and welfare throughout her ill health. You have actioned whatever was needed in a timely manner. A big thank you too to all the relatives and friends that have helped out in one way or the other.

Aunty, your passing will leave a void in the family, but we pray your children will carry on you and uncle Sam's legacy.

May your Soul and those of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace. Amen.

TRIBUTE TO LATE DR. (MRS.) CATHERINE IDU AHUCHOGU - GRANDMA B1

Grandma B1 as we fondly called her, was a fine Christian woman and mother. I admired her a lot for her tenacity, humility and compassion.

She fought a good fight and when it was God's time, she took an honorable bow.

Dr. Catherine Ahuchogu lived a beautiful life and her legacy lives on.

It is my prayer that the good Lord will bless and  keep the children and entire family in peace, love and unity.

She shall be greatly missed.

Rest in God's Home Mama

Posted by Phil E on June 1, 2021

This is my own little way of paying my respect to a pretty, humble, hardworking and caring woman who lived a wonderful life and brought up 5 solid men(what a blessing)

Mother inlaw to my friend- turned -sister, Sarah Ahuchogu( nee Osifo ), you will be forever missed. I still have a picture of your quiet but amiable presence @ most of the birthday parties (Chuka/Sarah 's kids) your grand children in Festac.

I remember your 70th Birthday. I took my Aso ebi from Sarah, had my tailor make me a special style to fit a special woman's occasion. I looked forward to that Party. Unfortunately for me, it coincided with the wedding of the son of a chief I managed his account in my bank. I decided to quickly rush to Lekki and show my face and then come back to Festac for your party, but I ended up spending 6hours in the then Lekki toll gate construction traffic (hold up) as we say. I nether saw the wedding nor your birthday... I was disappointed in myself. Till today, Sarah and I still remember. That would have been my last party around your fun-loving family before I left Lagos. Today, you party with angels of the Most High.

Accomplished medical director and God's general, may our Mother Mary present you before her Son Jesus to receive your crown of glory.
Your death is not a loss but a change to immortality where there is no sickness or pain. Adieu Ezinne !!!

ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO HER O LORD!

Mama was indeed a good mother, a real mother in Israel. A faithful follower of Jesus. From her interaction with my daughter before she got married to Okechukwu, I could attest to the fact that she was good natured, frank, down to earth, never minced words. She was the type of in-law anyone would love to have. She gave me a bible literature titled "THE SHROUD OF TURIN" which was born out of our interest in discussing the things of God ...
Honestly ,out of all gifts from my in-laws, I cherish this gift the most to the extent that till date i make copies of "THE SHROUD OF TURIN" & give it as gifts to people as gift to adorn their homes.
The last time I saw mama was in the hospital, I told my daughter and those attending to her that she looked very fresh and chubby and her skin was bright and glowed like never before ...she didn’t look like she was above 80years my daughter's response was some of my observation was because she has not been going out ....surprisingly that very day my spirit lead me to pray with her like it was time for her to go home, and that the almighty God should receive her into his eternal kingdom. I prayed for her and a day after this visit God called mama home to be with the saints.
Thank God for she lived in christ she now rests in perfect peace and with her creator i pray that the almighty will give the rest of us the grace to emulate her so that we can all make heaven like mama .......
Grandma B1..we shall miss you ..Rest and on the resurrection day when we shall meet .......

Aunty Kate, not only were you a strong intellectual and accomplished woman but you were full of grace and compassion and was willing to support and guide me as I entered the family.

Of all the many blessings I have received however great or small, to have known you, and have had the opportunity to spend time with you over the years has been a privilege.

Aunty, you more than provided your share of contributions to make this world a better place for our children and generations to come.

But just like everything in life, when the journey ends, we will claim a great reward and find everlasting peace together with the Lord.

Revelation 14:13  “And I heard a voice from heaven saying, ‘Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’  ‘Blessed indeed,’ says the Spirit, ‘that they may rest from their labours, for their deeds follow them!’

Aunty, as you've left this earth, I am rest assured that you have returned to God, to take your seat in heavenly places. It is with thanks that we return you to the Lord, and in doing so, may your name live on and never be forgotten.

Mommy, (My dear mother in-law ) Grandma B1 as we often called you. Words fail me as I pen down my tribute to you. You were the truest, dearest mother in-law any one could ask for, I called you my mother you stood by me through it all, you were funny, courageous and a fighter, you were always there for me, from delivery of my children to birthdays, choosing schools, school runs , picking lesson teachers, splitting shifts just so you could help out with your grandchildren.

As I write I smile, because you thought me to believe in myself, trust my instincts while making decisions and stand by my principles, never give up or be scared of anyone.

You believed in prayers, you always attended mass, society meetings and Bible class. You touched so many hearts, you saved lives of babies and I heard many say” that’s mama action Doctor”. For me, your strength and no nonsense behaviour is what I will forever cherish.

We partied together, went to church together and prayed together in trying times. God used you to save my life at Chinonyelum’s birth, I remember what you said to me, hmmmm grandma, forever action even when all hope was lost then, am so Thankful for your expertise and experience as a pediatrician.

Sunday lunch was the best, your ofe nsala and pounded yam (Delicious) hahaha, grandma, we will forever Miss you , but we will all be fine because your legacy will live on. Adieu grandma B1.

Tribute to a mother and mentor: Dr. Mrs Catherine Ahuchogu.

It was a rude shock to me when I heard that you had passed on to glory this evening. I could not come to terms with it because I was hoping that I would see you one of these days but alas you have gone to meet with the Lord.
“Mama” as she was fondly called by all of us back then at Massey Street children’s Hospital, where she retired meritoriously, was a hardworking, diligent caring and loving Pediatrician.
She was a disciplinarian with a large heart for all of us working with her in our team. We worked together as a family.
When I was pregnant with my first child she was there for me all way, she would always give me the key to her office whenever I was on call so that I can enjoy the air conditioner and the convenience in the office despite opposition.
She was a mentor, always encouraging us her adopted daughters to be focused and go for PG training.
It saddens me that I could not get to see her again all these years.
Your grandson and your granddaughter with me are doing great.
You will be sorely missed but sweet is the remembrance of the righteous.
Sleep on Mama. Rest in the boson of the almighty. Adieu till we meet at the feet of Jesus.

When in the early hours of Sunday 25th April 2021 the sad news of the death of Dr. Catherine Ahuchogu was received, we were shocked and really pained; but we were comforted by the fact that she has gone to rest.

Late Dr. (Mrs) Catherine Ahuchogu, whom we fondly called GRANDMA B1, was not just an inlaw to us the Osifos, but she was very much part of our family, amiable and loving, always involved in all our family activities.

She also impacted the lives of so many others, especially when she was in active service as a Pediatrician.

She shall be greatly missed.

We shall see her again on the day of resurrection by God's grace.

May God comfort the children, grandchildren and entire family.

Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 vs 1 & 2

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die…”

Today we are here to celebrate the life of my Grandma, Grandma B1 who many of you know as Dr. Mrs Catherine Idu Ahuchogu.

As the first grandchild, I remember living with her, during those times she would tell me stories about my dad, his brothers and also about her younger years. Through those stories I learnt how courageous, strong and principled my Grandma was. My Grandma was always there for me growing up, While my parents were at work, my siblings and I would stay with her, She always made sure we ate our food, did our homework and went to bed on time. She taught me the value of hardwork and integrity. I don't think there was ever a day I saw my Grandma cry.

When Chiamaka, my younger sister and I were in Nazareth elementary school immediately the bell rang, she always arrived on time to pick us up. If we were delayed she would walk in and ask the teachers to let us go, everyone in Nazareth knew her as an action lady. She always made sure we took part in various school activities such as Inter house sports or giving speeches. If we were not participating during the heats we would lie about the start times so she wouldn't attend but she was always punctual or early so she would eventually realise that we were not participating and would reprimand us. Asking “if the person taking part had two heads”.

My Grandma loved to listen to music. One song she could listen to the entire car ride home was Sweet mother by Nico Mbarga, we would sing along with her and even show her the latest dance steps as soon as we got home.

Growing up my Grandma instilled in me discipline, I remember very well she would make sure we had no meat or fish till we finished our food, this ensured that we ate all our food to eventually get the reward of meat. These lessons and more taught me patience, the importance of hard work and family.

OH GRANDMA, you would be truly missed, your impact on this world would never be forgotten. A prestigious Doctor, strong Catholic, kind, loving and Beautiful woman. Your legacy would continue to live on through (Obinna, Chibuzor, Chloe, Adanma, Chiamaka, Chinonyelum, Chinonyerem, Lia, Colin, Leo, Ngesochukwu and Nicole) all of us your
Grandchildren.

Fare well Grandma B1

Adieu Grandma

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

We love you & you will forever be in our hearts.

Mummy,

I'll never forget the day I first met you, and the interrogation I underwent as you decided whether I was good enough for your youngest child - I am not sure I have ever been so nervous in my life!

But from that day on, you embraced both me and Chloe as part of your family, and I will always treasure the times we had together when you would come to stay in the summer. Our shopping trips, when it would never cease to amaze me how many extra bags you would need to buy to accommodate all of the fabric and shoes you wanted to take home, and the time you spent in the kitchen, showing me how to make some of Nnamdi's favourite Nigerian dishes.

It pains me deeply that we didn't get more summers together, and that we were not able to visit Nigeria more often. I didn't get anywhere near enough time with you, and I know you would have had a million stories to tell and things to teach me.

I know both Nnamdi and I will make sure that your legacy lives on, and that our children know and remember you for the strong, kind, educated and compassionate woman you were. You achieved so much in your life, and I am proud to have married in to your family and to have known you.

Rest in Peace Mummy. x

Tribute to my Grandmother.

The memories i made with her would consist of my family and i visiting her immediately after church, bringing food along with us to spend a little bit of that day with her.

I fondly remember being in the B1 compound with Chiamaka, Obinna and her, trying to teach her the latest Nigerian dance trend as we laughed, with my dad recording the precious moment and my mom laughing in the background .

It is clear how loving and knowledgeable she was, from the stories my dad would tell my siblings and i about when they were kids and how stubborn they were towards my grandma to the stories about the medical degrees she achieved in her lifetime .

I have always asked people to describe my grandma, and the one thing that their descriptions had in common was that she was respected, and she stood her ground. Hearing peoples memories about her everyday, help me recognize how I can emulate my grandmother as I continue to grow.

Tribute to my grandmother Dr (Mrs) Catherine Idu Ahuchogu.

My Grandma it breaks my heart that you are not with us today but that is just how life works we live and we die.

My namesake the one i took after i remember growing up everyone would always tell me “Na grandma B1 you resemble oh the way she walks and talks na her carbon copy you be. “

Hmmm grandma my action lady i remember when Obinna and myself were in Nazareth primary school we would wait for you to come pick us up and we made sure we were outside the gate on time so that grandma wouldn’t wait. Whenever we were late you would come inside and ask our teachers if the school was not closed at 3:30pm, all our teachers knew her as grandma action.

There was never a dull moment i remember when it was inter house sports time i would hide and tell her the wrong time in case i wasn’t participating so she wouldn’t ask me were my prize was or that my mates where participating where am i or should we talk about the time Obinna and i would come out late and she would wait for us in the car and instruct the driver to take us the long route home and we will listen to sweet mother the whole ride home and when we got home it was food then homework and let’s not forget no meat till we finished eating.

Grandma i could go on and on about all our memories together but here’s on thing i know you inspired me to want to read medicine and become a pediatrician I’m on that route now one thing for sure is there can only be one Dr Catherine Ahuchogu but i will hold down that name and i will make you proud i will be the next Dr Catherine Ahuchogu.

Grandma you will forever be missed but your legacy lives on.

TRIBUTE TO MUMMY

Our dear mummy has gone home to rest. Leaving a void that we will struggle to fill. Such strength, such determination; juxtaposed with grace and warmth. A very loving, dependable, and reliable mother, nurturing and always giving, especially to her family.

Growing up the house was full, bursting at the seams with my siblings and an array of relatives, with mummy at the centre of it all. Every need was taken care of and the house always ran like clockwork. She was extraordinarily strong, determined, with an unwavering character.

She obviously had a strong personality and successfully raised five sons. Strict and firm with us when we were young, evolving to be quite accommodating, warm, and welcoming as we grew older and left her nest. She was also very calm, never panicked at all, seeming to have a solution to all the chaos we threw her way.

Mummy was the consummate professional on one hand and the perfect homemaker at the same time. Her first question whenever you visited was, ‘what will you like to eat’? And if she were expecting you, a meal would be waiting. She often hosted the extended family during festive occasions, she would cook up a storm and any relatives in town were invited to join us to celebrate.

Mummy loved children, so not surprising that she devoted her life to caring for them as a profession. I was privileged to have visited her occasionally at Massey Street Children’s Hospital and always sensed the joy she derived from the work she did. She loved helping these ailing children and comforting their parents. She was very much in control in that environment and in her elements.

Mummy was a devout Catholic and was regularly active in the church, belonging to a few church groups, devoting her time and effort to their activities. She was also active in the Ndoni Women Group in Lagos; I remember chauffeuring her to quite a few meetings of this group.

Most of all, I will miss her strength and support, and in all situations her contentment and strong belief in God. I know that she has gone to rest in the Lord’s bosom.

Bye mummy, we love you, but God loves you more. Rest in perfect peace and may perpetual light shine on you.

Your son, Nnaemeka

TRIBUTE TO DR. MRS.KATE AHUCHOGU..
- Mrs. Cecilia Onuiri nee Ahuchogu.

I am so sorry that I cannot be with you today. I really would have loved to be there in person to pay my respect to Dr. Mrs. Kate Ahuchogu, the highly treasured wife of my late senior brother, Engr. Samuel Ahuchogu. In my absence, I have put together a few words to express how grateful I am that we lived in harmony in our family.

I got to know Kate when she moved into the husband's home in GRA Portharcourt. My brother DeSam as we fondly called him was working at the Refinery in Eleme Portharcourt. I got admission to study at St John's College Diobu. It was a co- educational institution for training Grade 11 Teachers. We had lost our Dad, so DeSam took over the responsibility of my sponsorship in my educational pursuits. He did that so well that I never lacked anything good and I also did not feel like I was fatherless. I was happily integrated into their family.

While in that College, every Saturday we were off, I spent the whole day at GRA PH in Kate’s home along with my bosom friend, Stella Eni, who later got married to Prof. Humphrey Nwosu, a one time Chairman of INEC. Kate never for one day grumbled. She took care of us. We came to rest after cutting grass in the school and the tedious class work. She single handedly did her cooking and fed us. We had time to sleep with the Air conditioner on. In the evening, we had all the provisions we needed and we were dropped off in the school by my brother. We looked forward to spending our day off every Saturday in Kate's home. How many house wives of our present day will do this for their sister inlaw who would not come alone visiting ? Because I was always warmly received in Kate's home, I spent most of my holidays in their home.

I saw Kate to be very meticulous; focused, energetic, determined, a tough disciplinarian of her children ( in love),hard working,God fearing and very hospitable. As a family woman, in medical practice and a Chief Consultant in the busy Massey Street hospital, Lagos where she was working, she still had time to give good parenting to the five brilliant and well behaved sons she had for my brother DeSam. None of the boys got lost to the world as many families have experienced with their children.
Kate loved her God. She served her God and worshipped Him with all her heart.

During the civil war, we were in PH when the Federal troops got close to PH. The Refinery was shut down. We hurriedly loaded the two cars available. Kate was still learning to drive. But the need to move out of Portharcourt was urgent. To my amazement, Kate volunteered to drive her car for the first time, outside PH.to Ntigha in Isiala Ngwa north Local govt. Area in Abia State. Kate arose in strength, she gave no room for weakness. She received divine empowerment to drive while my brother drove his. And we moved slowly because of her and got home safely.

We were at Ntigha when Aba was invaded and without any hesitation, we moved with my mum and my siblings, in fact the whole family to Amandugba in Orlu, Imo State where the Refinery was relocated and from there to Unubi in Anambra State. We all lived together with Kate's mum and three sisters Vero, Antonia , Agatha , all of them late. We never quarrelled all through the period. The war ended and we all went back home in peace.

Shall i end this tribute without mentioning the tradition Kate and my brother started ? Every Christmas day our family members gathered together for lunch and dinner. Kate had no cook. She never engaged the service of any caterer. She took her time early in the morning to roast the big turkey and prepared the sumptuous meal for the entire family. We had a jolly good time with family members every Christmas Day with Kate as the Chief hostess.

Today, the bell has tolled for Dr. Catherine Ahuchogu, so it will toll for us all. Let our consolation therefore be that she has gone to sleep and will wake up at the glorious morning at Jesus' second coming. As we say, "Good night Kate" I pray earnestly that we shall all be there to say, “Good morning Kate".

A TRIBUTE: TO THE STRONGEST WOMAN I KNOW

Dear mummy, words cannot even begin to describe the emotions I feel. From the sadness of your passing… to the joy that you lived a full and accomplished life…to the relief that you are no longer in pain.

You will forever be my role model for the exemplary life you lived. You were undoubtedly the iron lady in a home filled with nothing but testosterone. You unwavering faith was second to none.

You were the epitome of discipline and always emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication. Most of all, you were always 100% supportive of whatever path I decided to choose.

The foundation you gave me ensured that I was only destined for one path – SUCCESS. You were strict, but fair. Compassionate, but firm. You made our home a safe place where I will always be welcomed with open arms no matter the situation.

My love and admiration for you increased exponentially as I grew older. You always managed to find 25 hours in a day to get everything done. From being a consummate professional working full time, but still finding the time to make a loving home. I don’t know how you found the time to cook and made sure everyone was taken care of, helped with our homework, and still found time for leisurely activities.

Thank you for everything you did. We love you mummy, and we will always miss you. Rest in eternal peace in the bosom of the lord.

Your loving son, daughter in-law and grandchildren.

One in a million mother. You are finally resting in peace. It is an understatement to say you will be missed. You did your best in raising 5 boys which was more than enough and we are all the better for it. You were always right and sometimes as children we don’t see and understand it until later in life but you were always right. Even in times when I was wrong and wanted to do things my way, your love was undeniable. Thank you for being a strong, firm and loving mother. Our Sunday family lunches were always amazing and as long as we were all in Lagos, we had to be at that table. It taught us the value of family and I am doing my best to instil such values in my children. Christmas Day always started with the smell of your cooking emanating from the kitchen as early as 6am and ending with all available extended family coming to our house for Christmas lunch/dinner. As I write this I can’t help but shed some tears at the memories. I will take solace in knowing that you’re resting in the bosom of the Lord along with Dad. Adieu and Thank you Mummy until we meet again.

Love eternal
Your Son

A TRIBUTE: TO MY DARLING MOTHER

You are a great inspiration, you never minced your words, you were very direct and straight laced and you wore your heart on your sleeves.

Thank you for the upbringing, the foundation and principles you provided as well as an abundance of support, guidance and advice.

Thank you for making me "your handbag" and taking me places and showing me things I may otherwise have never seen before.

Thank you for always being firm but fair with me, and I as I became an adult, thank you for listening and respecting my views and needs.

I would not have had it any other way with you mummy.

I've cried a lot for you since your passing, but in reality, I should be happy that you are now resting in perfect peace and in the bosom of the Lord, till we meet again.

May the Lord grant you eternal rest.

I will do my best to carry on your life and your legacy. What a great woman!

Your loving son, Nnamdi..... xxooxx
