On this special day, I am reflecting on how lucky I was to have known Cathy Moore.

Cathy was an exceptional educator and leader in Great Neck.

From 1974-1977, Cathy was the assistant principal of JFK.

Cathy was the second principal of the John F. Kennedy School from 1984 to 1996 and led with distinction supporting staff and all students.

I am very grateful for all the visits that Cathy made to JFK to see the students and to add books to the Catherine E. Moore Little Free Library.

Cathy Moore's life exuded grace, gentleness, charm, and caring. She was the consummate hostess who when she entertained you made you feel so much at ease, befitting the enjoyment of the fare she'd prepared for you.
Her career as an educator in the Great School District was long and distinguished and will be remembered for many, many years to come.

Those of use who knew her, loved her and know what a loss her passing has meant.

Cathy was a delightful principal tower with and always felt she was willing to listen.
Had some delicious home cooked meals at her home. She was a terrific chef!

Cathy was a loving and caring person. She always made time to talk to anyone who was in need of advice or a shoulder to cry on. She always had a word of kindness and encouraged me to be the best that I could be. I will have her in my heart forever. She is missed.

Cathy Moore was a dear friend and a very gracious lady. She was an excellent educator, and always wanted the best for all children at the John F. Kennedy School. Cathy was respected by parents and would spend many hours with them as she discussed their concerns about their children.

Cathy was beloved by the faculty and often shared her beautiful home with us by having get togethers for teachers as we marked special events in our lives. Cathy knew the best restaurants in New York City and she loved to travel and shop. Cathy and her husband Charles were devoted to one another and Cathy never missed a day of school during his illness.

Cathy would often take me and her dear friend, Grace Warner, out to celebrate our birthdays. We always went to Stressa restaurant, a favorite of Cathy’s. A group of us would celebrate Cathy’s June birthday in school with a cake, in what we referred to as “Roy’s shop.” We would have to eat quickly because it during lunch hour. This went on for many years.

We still often think about it now and remember our younger days and our happy memories as we communicate with one another on Facebook. 

Cathy was one of the most sincere , kind and unique lady that I met in my life
Because of her support I decided to continue my education , and became successful in my adopted country
