CATHY DENISE MCPHERSON

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Revelation 21:4

Cathy was introduced to the Lord at an early age in her father’s  church where she and her sisters and brothers were in the choir. She was blessed to have been a faithful member of three churches: her formal memberships were with North Heights Christian Church under Pastor Titus James; Dellrose United Methodist Church under Pastor Kevass Harding; When God called her from “Labor to Reward” she was a member at Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor T. Lamont Holder.  At Calvary she was a proud member of several ministries in the church. She worked diligently unto the Lord. She sang in the choir, traveled with the church, catered food, Sunday School and Bible study. Cathy loved singing in the choir, at weddings, birthdays orwhenever and wherever the opportunity was presented.

Cathy married a young man by the name of Walter Harris. They later divorced with no children were born to this union.  Cathy’s passions were children, cooking, reading and singing. She was overjoyed when she began working at the Boys and Girls Club as a Chef. She felt like she had hit the  jackpot. In her career she worked extensively with children in foster parenting. Cathy taught cooking classes, and parenting classes. She worked for Wichita Children’s Home, Independent Living for teens,. Cathy gave her time, talents and energy to taking care of her three most precious gifts that God gave to her. Her three children, Cathy; Chicara; and Camarin; whom she chose with love to be a part of her life. Her cup overflowed even more with the birth of her three grandbabies.
