The daughter of the late Horace and Genny Robinson Mathis, Cathy was a lifelong resident of Columbus who attended the George Washington Carver High School. She was of Christian faith, and was employed as a CNA at Azalea Trace Nursing Home. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary J. Juniper.

Survivors include: four sons, Michael Adams (Jamica), Charles Mathis, Willie Mathis and Tony Dupuy; three daughters, Ellen Boyd, Tameka Buckner and Brianah Jones; loving grand and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
