I miss talking to Cathy. I haven't been able to delete her number from my phone yet and find myself calling her number before I realize what I am doing. She was always so much fun. When we were kids we were forbidden to go to the river which was close to our homes. So, of course, that's where we went every chance we could. We would put a hook on string and go fishing. When we caught anything we would give it to an old man who fished there a lot; otherwise we would throw the fish back. It worked really well - Cathy would bait the hooks (I still won't touch a worm) and I would unhook the fish. I know she is looking down on all of us and wanting us to live the best life we can and to think of her not with sorrow but with joy from having known her as a friend. But I will still miss her.

It may happen once in a lifetime, if you are really lucky, to find a very special friend. And I was very lucky when Cathy's family moved next to mine in 1952. We hit if off immediately. I will miss talking with Cathy, but she has been so strong and so brave for such a long time, I'm happy that she is no longer suffering. I will also miss all the boxer stories-when we were kids we hung out at the fire station across the street; their mascot was a boxer named Brutus who we played ball with a lot. That's what started her love for boxers. When I think of Cathy, I will think about all the fun we had growing up together. And, boy we did have fun. She raised two great children, has a wonderful son-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter. Through all her illness she still kept her sense of humor. My parents thought of her as their third daughter and I always considered her my "sister". I will miss her so much. Rest in peace, my friend. Love you, Judy

Cathy, you were the bravest person and most generous friend. You always thought of others before yourself and gave everything you had to help others. Your passion for your children, grandchild, animals and friends was amazing. To have had the privilege of calling you friend was truly an honor! I hope to take just a little bit of you and carry on your passion and loving kindness. Rest well, my friend. I will never forget you and will love you forever. God bless you and your family.

My dearest Cathy,
I am so sad to hear of your passing. We had such great times as neighbors and I so miss watching those two amazing children of yours grow up. You will be forever missed. Your fight was courageous and you are in heaven now and at peace. Kyle and Michelle have a wonderful guardian angel. Kyle and Michelle, please reach out if you need anything at all. Still right next door to the old house. Love you guys
