Cecelia Mae May (nee Fennell), passed away peacefully with family by her side. Born to William Fennell and Cecelia Fennell. She was a loving sister to Dorothea.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Cecelia Fennell, her son William May, her aunts Rose and Ceil Smigiel and uncles George, Leon, Gustav and Joseph.
She is survived by her Sister Dorothea Tanski, daughters Cecelia Lupton, Catherine Stewart, Elizabeth May, son Herb May, and her nieces, nephews, grand kids and great grand kids.
Cecelia was raised in Collingswood NJ, and later lived in Thorofare, NJ.
Ceil raised 3 daughters and her son whom she adored and devoted her life to. She also loved her grand kids and great grand kids spoiling them during the holidays and taking them on many different trips including theme parks and the beach. Ceil had a major talent for cooking and won several ribbons and awards for her famous dishes at the State Fair. She loved animals but especially her cats. Ceil also played the lottery and never passed up a contest, winning several. She was a devoted football fan and a avid weather watcher.
Ceil had a heart of gold, she always gave back to her family and friends when ever she could. This was most true when it came to her daughters and son who she always put first. She gave the best she could to her children, always finding a way. Ceil was the kind of mother one aspires to be. She will be remembered as an amazing sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ceil was a woman who radiated strength, love, and compassion everywhere she went.
If you were blessed to know Ceil you knew she was devout Catholic who was always giving to many. Her greatest tribute and honor was being the Secretary for the Legion of Mary at Saint Matthews in Thorofare, NJ.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 7-9 pm at FERTIG FUNERAL HOME, 63 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ 08062. Another viewing will be held Monday, December 2, 2019 from 10-11 am at ST. PATRICK CHURCH, Holy Angels Parish, 86 Cooper St., Woodbury, NJ 08096 with Funeral Mass at 11:30 am. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
