Big Mummy, Sister West as we fondly call you. It’s been 3 years you left us to a better place. We would have loved it if you had stayed here with us for many more years but you left because we needed an angel to watch and intercede for us.

Sister West, though I can’t hear or see you anymore, I know that you are always near us. I ask that you never get tired of watching over all of us. I miss you so much and your memory will never be forgotten.

Mum, it's been two years since you left us, and not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I miss your warmth, your wisdom, and your guidance. There are so many things I wish I could share with you, so many moments where I long to hear your voice, and so many times where I simply wish you were here.

But even though you're no longer with us, your memory and the love you shared with us lives on. I remember the way you laughed, the way you cooked, and the way you always knew exactly what to say to make me feel better. Your love was unconditional, and it gave me the strength and courage to face life's challenges.

I want to thank you for all that you did for me, and for the impact you had on my life. You taught me to be strong, to be compassionate, and to be kind. Your legacy lives on through the values you instilled in me, and I will always be proud to call you my mother.

Rest in peace, Mum. You are forever missed, but never forgotten.

Grandma Omoyinbo, the beautiful Mama Nurse was simply a good woman, mother and citizen. I knew her in the late 80's when Lola Akintola (Nee Omoyinbo) was my classmate in Secondary School. Up till now, she remained a good memory of General Hospital, Adeoyo, Ibadan.
She was caring, homely and very accommodating. She raised her children very well, no wonder they are blessed today. She was a jewel and would remain till eternity.
Adieu Grandma Omoyinbo! Rest on till we meet to part no more!! God bless your soul!!!

My Dear Mummy
It's amazing how the years fly by ,
And how beautiful the memories the Lord leaves us with .
It seems just like yesterday and I can see mummy in her uniform ready for work and bustling back and forth to take care of everyone.
I remember being in Ibadan in some of those times and she trying to take care of children left behind and being very brave with little tears to show the world.
There are some legacies that can never be filled and some legacies that one must emulate and she is one of them .
We pray that her legacy lives on .
We leave her now in the arms of Jesus never to suffer no more but to be comforted forever .
Hallelujah, Shalom.
Rest In Peace till we meet again in a place of no more sorrow , no more tears and no pain .

I enjoyed every moment I had with grandma.
Her smile melts away every hardship.
She was the nicest person I’ve ever met.
She still makes me so happy.

My 2 year old daughter, Teni was very close to her. They ate together and laughed together.
Grandma always carried her. The last day she was with us, Teni even called my attention to grandma sweating.

When grandma was leaving for the hospital, Teni broke down crying and calling grandma even after the car had left.

Up till now, Teni allows no one to sit on grandma’s chair as though it was willed to her

At her last moments, grandma was still giving us the gift of her smile.
I can never forget her.
I still can’t believe she’s gone nevertheless, God is in control.

May God rest your soul perfectly grandma!
Till we meet again.

Adopted Daughter,
Diana Benjamin.

It’s good to see that so many people loved and cared for my grandma.

When I was about 4 years old, during one of my usual rough play sessions, I hit my forehead against the enstrance step to the living room. The cut to my flesh was deep and grandma was right there to help me.

She immediately sterilized a needle with the flames from the kitchen gas and stitched the torn flesh without breaking a sweat!

My mum took me to the hospital after the stitch and when the doctors saw it, they were amazed at the technique used. They were even more astonished at the fact that grandma’s hands did the magic. There was little or nothing left to be done by them except for me to take pain killers which grandma already administered.

The mark is still with me till today, bearing testimony of my grandma’s perfect love.

Grandma lived a life that was full of joy, and happiness. Even though she wasn’t the strongest during the later part of her life, it was amazing that she never let these tragic events drag her down. She never lost her compassion, or serenity.

She had a smile for everyone, her children & grandchildren like me.

Grandma, I will always miss you. Thank you for being the best grandma in the world.

Grandma was a very wonderful woman. She always wanted the best for her grandchildren, especially me.

I remember when I was about 9 or 10, I was really sick and I went to Aunty Lola’s house and my mum and Aunty’s pinned Oyinda and Mohammed down so that Grandma can give them injections on their bums.

And it was my turn to take the injection, I was so scared to take injection. So they pinned me down and as Grandma was slowly injecting me with the injection I screamed and I said “God God”.

Till this day it is the most painful injection I’ve ever had in my life time, however it actually cured the sickness I had for so many months.

And of course with any other injections that followed after that I did not scream like a baby.

Growing up to my teens, she always told me the importance of education, like telling me to study, read, and back then I never saw the importance of doing that which I regret looking back at it.

But I started to see the importance of that until adulthood.

I enjoyed the good moments we had, from watching movies, telling me stories, enjoying each other’s company when we travel to different countries.

I wish I got to spend time with her a bit more and also tell her how right she was about how I needed to take my education seriously when I was younger.

She has been a great role model, nice, loving, wonderful person.

She will never be forgotten.

May her soul rest in perfect peace and power.

Much love

I did not only find a mother in you, my children gained a grandmother. You took us all under your wings and nurtured us like your very own. A living testimony of Proverbs 31. ‘A virtuous woman who can find’ You carried the torch with so much pride and faith and finished the race with so much gratitude. Mummy, we all appreciate the nurturing. Never saw you angry nor complain. When you speak, they are always kind and uplifting words. . You wore humility with so much ease and respected all. Love you dearly mummy.  You will be greatly missed but with a heart of appreciation, we say thank you to our Lord Jesus Christ for his resurrection power cause we know heaven gained back one of his very own.

The news of your transition was received with shock and sadness. Such was unexpected due to the circumstance- a sudden admission in the hospital and passing on to glory subsequently in few hours. You were a wonderful mother-in-law, quite supportive, peaceful and loved by all.

Your Divine Call at this time is beyond human comprehension and cannot be questioned. However, we take solace in your life well-spent and the assurance that you are resting with The Lord.

I am so thankful to God that my husband and I had been privileged to call you mummy!
Thank you for being there for us when we needed you most. I am particularly grateful for those years in “Adewunmi close, Felele Straight” and Oyo when our biological parents were far away in the North. You, together with your husband - “Daddy Oyo,” (our dear Uncle) provided my siblings and me a shoulder to lean on at a critical stage in our lives. I don’t remember you treating us differently from how you treated you biological children. Your gentle prodding and motherly care steadied and molded us as we grew into adulthood. You seldom got angry at people, neither did you keep your anger for long. Nothing anyone did to you was ever enough to break your tolerance limit. Instead, your faith in God kept you radiant till your final moment on earth. You were such a kind soul and a humble doer of good deeds.
My family will miss you. Good night Mummy.

Our grandma was a very special woman who inspired my mum and her siblings to be strong and independent. It was devastating when I heard about the stroke she suffered 10+ years ago.

My memories of her were special ones because she was there for us when we were ill. She loved to give us palm oil when we had a flu/cough and made us feel comfortable drinking it.

Looking back now I wish I had spent more time with her. I had always known her to be kind, disciplined and caring towards others. She will always have a special place in my heart and others. Although we are going through a period of sorrow I do cherish the fact that she lived a long live and witnessed all her grandkids mature. This is every parents dream and she fulfilled it. Thank you grandma for being in our lives, we miss and love you.

Grandma was a very kind person and everytime I saw her she was always smiling. Even though I personally did not hear her say many words because of her condition, I knew she had a beautiful heart.

I remember that everytime myself and my brothers said we were feeling fine she was very happy which shows that she truly loved and cares for her family dearly.

I have a huge amount of respect for Grandma because she showed strength and resilience as she was fighting against her condition.

Heaven have gained a new angel, may her soul rest in peace. Amen.

I remember grandma for always smiling and for her very gentle laugh. I remember everytime I saw her she’d always say wise things and enlighten me; I was around 10 so I didn’t understand a lot of what she said but I could tell she knew what she was talking about and that she cared for me.

The memory of grandma that has stuck to my mind was when I asked her why she used a little red notebook to store her contacts rather than a phone. Grandma’s answer to that was that she was worried that she would lose her phone, and I remember saying to her, “you could lose your notebook!”, but she smiled and said, “I will never lose this”. After that, grandma told me to help write down some of her contacts in the notebook for her.

Now she is resting in God’s Kingdom and her life will continue to be celebrated forever.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. John 14:1

*Grandma*

I cannot believe that you are gone.
You may have passed on, but your memories would always live on with me. I remember when I had a school trip and you said to mum, don’t worry wasting money buying her what she will not wear again, let’s buy the material and I will sow it for her. My peers and teacher could not believe that you made my costume, using only a needle and thread, my teacher took a picture and it was placed in the school magazine. Thank you for the sacrifices, your care and concern, your love and everything that you have done for me and my sister. I know you are in a much better place. I will be forever grateful and thankful that you are my *’grandmother’*

Sweet mother, I no go forget you, for the suffer wey you suffer for me yeah………
The sweetest mother, that is what you are. You are the strongest person I know, yet, very patient, extremely respectful never loses temper and kind to a fault, and I ask God to give me half your strength, half your patience, half your kindness and half your wisdom
Mummy you will forever live in my heart, all the sacrifices you made so that I can be where I am today will never be forgotten. You taught me that there is dignity in labor, there was no chore you couldn’t do, no one you couldn’t care for even total strangers, no one was too small in your eyes as you treated everyone the same regardless of age, tribe or religion affiliation and the amazing thing is you always had a smile on your face.
I remember when you were teaching me how to drive and I got into a wreck, I wanted to move back to the passenger seat, but you insisted I continued. That was you teaching me never to be afraid of failure rather use it as a learning opportunity. Mummy, thank you for all the knowledge you impacted me.
I wish you could live forever, but Heaven needs you and I cannot stop it.
Continue to rest mummy until we meet to part no more.
Love you mummy.

Wow...I still can’t believe she’s gone. What a strong, loving, caring and wonderful woman she was. So many wonderful memories I had with her. She was like a second mother to me. Although she had speech issues, there was a strong connection between the both of us. You could tell through the smile and how she looked at me when I walked into the room that she loved me.

She will call me and hold unto my hand not saying anything but just looking lovingly at me. The bond was strong and it will forever be. She nursed me in my early days on earth, she took care of me , made food for me and pampered me with love and care.

She was truly a beautiful soul. It still hasn’t sunk in yet that such a lovely person has passed on to glory. She loved singing and praising God. We would go to her room everyday to greet her in the morning and her smile just brightens up the space. We would sing worship songs and she will clap and sing with full emotion. So many countless memories.

My sister and I loved playing with her fluffy arms and the joy she expresses when we do that is priceless. Although she faced a couple of challenges in her last years she was still fighting strong regardless of all she went through. Her strength inspires me. Since the fatal events on April 20th 2021, not a day has gone by without me thinking of her. It hurts me so much to be writing this at the age of 14.

I thought she would live to see my children and nurse them as she did also for me. All will be well and all is well. We cannot question the works of God.
So my dear Grandmother,
I love you and i will always do.
Till we meet again in eternity.
Rest in Peace Iya Bimbo.

*My dearest Mother in-law*

Your departure from this planet earth was indeed very sudden, fast and painful. I feel sad that I did not have the opportunity to see or talk to you during your last moment. I take solace knowing that you are now amongst the Angels in Heaven.

Mummy, I want to thank you, for all that you have done. For being so strong all through the years I have known you. You were really a superwoman. You took great care of your daughters, son, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law and grandchildren.. You loved us all from the very start with your warm, kind, and loving heart. Yes, I remember my first visit to see Fola in Ibadan. I wasn't sure of the treatment I will get from you but you gave me such a warm welcome that I felt so relaxed and treated to a sumptuous meal of lafu with ewedu soup and a big stout. I fell in love with you even more than Fola.

Mummy, you were the truest, dearest, mother-in-law I could ever have asked for. I called you a friend, adviser and also a mother. You were a precious gift from God, so much beauty, grace, love, calmness, serenity and patience you possessed. You touched my heart in so many ways, your strength and smile always even on dark days made me realize I had an angel as a mother in-law.

I will forever salute you. God gave me the best mother-in-law in the world.

Thank you mummy, for your dear, sweet love.
Now you’ll watch over us from heaven above.

One of the earliest memories I have of Grandma was when she scolded me for mistakenly keeping a cup of water on a nearby bible. She lectured me on how God’s word should be treated with respect then, made me ask God for forgiveness. As a five year old, I could hardly understand what she was on about. As far as I was concerned, I just wanted to leave the situation and watch Teletubbies.

As a 19 year old, I often think about this conversation. Though, it may seem like a standard grandmother to granddaughter interaction, it reflects major parts of Grandma’s personality. She was a caring God-fearing woman who always wanted to guide you to be on the right path. I am sure the people who were lucky enough to meet her can testify to this. I also recently saw strength and resilience as key parts of my Grandma’s character. I watched her as she battled one medical challenge after the other, always successfully conquering each one with a reassuring smile on her face. She was clearly a fighter and should be remembered as one.

Grandma will always be my inspiration and motivation in life, and I will miss her dearly. What gives me comfort is that she is in a better place watching over me and at least making sure I don’t keep another cup on a bible.

Grandma was a very kind person. She was really nice to her grandkids and loved being around us. We used to play catch with a small ball, she’ll throw the ball to me and i’ll throw it back to her. Even though she didn’t talk much, we could all tell what she was always trying to say. We were all connected to her in a particular way. Her grandkids bonded a lot with her through the covid-19 lockdown period. We used to play "Connect 4" which was her favourite game with her and have barbecues outside occasionally. She was a huge impact in all of our lives. When she smiled at us, it felt like a very beautiful sunset. One thing of the things I love about Grandma is her love for God. She feared God and enjoyed worshipping him always ready before us on Sunday mornings even when she had to watch online due to the lockdown. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
