Celeste Marie Cook was born in Moody Alabama, on March 23rd 1966. She passed away on September 6th 2021 at the age of 55.

She is survived by her husband David DeSando, mother Mary Beth Morris, son Mack Cook, daughter-in-law Emily Cook, granddaughters Rhemi and Ramona Cook, daughter Angelia Edmonds, son-in-law Craig Edmonds, granddaughter Emilie Edmonds, brother William Carney Jr., sister-in-law Victoria Carney, nieces Hope, Brianna, and Elizabeth, and Bonus-mom Rhonda Carney.

Celeste had so much love and kindness in her heart. She loved to share her joy with everyone she met, and she never met a stranger! You could just feel the happiness radiating from her, and people were drawn to that! She would often find herself stopped in the middle of an aisle,  or on a sidewalk, talking for 45 minutes with people she had never met before.
Over the years Celeste rescued and cared for many, many animals in need. Cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, hedgehogs.. it didn't matter. She loved them all!

Celeste was the definition of LOVE.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The family would love to see your favorite photos or hear your favorite stories of Celeste.

I met Celeste after she and Dave were married. Her warmth and humor made us quick friends. We would talk online about our families and the things of the day. When she first found out she had cancer, she bravely took it on and all that went with it. What a relief that was when she told me she had beaten it. We thought it would be gone for good, but that wasn't the case. She was so overjoyed at becoming a Grandma and loved them so much. She would show off her pictures and they were such a delight. You know she was a proud momma and g-ma.  She loved her family intensely and they loved her back as much. She was a spiritual and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. I had been missing our conversations for a long time and Dave was kind enough to keep me updated on things. Celeste courageously fought with all she had, my heart breaks for her and everyone who's lives she touched. Jesus gives us a faith strengthening hope at John 5:28,29  where he says that those who have died will be resurrected. I am looking forward to that day. I will finally meet Celeste face to face and we will have much more to talk about.

D&D, Halloween, and Linkin Park

September 10, 2021
Celeste had a heart that spilled over with love. I remember the fun nights spent at her home with Angelia and Mack, playing Dungeons and Dragons, eating delicious treats, and getting acquainted with animals I never new could be pets. Amid all the fun, including the unforgettable Halloween parties, what really left an impression on me was Celeste's deep care and kindness for all she interacted with. As a 13-year-old kid, it sort of fell short on me at the time. But I've often since reflected on the way she was so protective and supportive of me, some stranger from Angelia's school. I remember vividly the night Celeste took me to my first concert, where Linkin Park was headlining. I was scared out of my mind, but Celeste stood right by my side, reassured me, and protected me from the rowdy crowd. I'm devastated to hear she was taken from this Earth so early, but I know she used her precious hours spreading love and truly blessing the lives of those around her. My condolences and love go out to her family.
