Personal eulogy to be presented at services by Chana Dahan:
"Chandler Lucas, a man of commitment, loyalty and integrity unsurpassed, and his wife Shirley, a faithful Witness of his love, hard work and optimism, walked a journey together of 46 years. In this journey many lives were touched and good causes were helped by the laborious hands of this blessed couple.
Now Chad has been called to continue his journey up above. He gave all of us his smile and sweet special humor to shine some light to many people even in hard times. Chad was very kind, humble and smart, one of a kind. He will be dearly missed by everybody who got the blessing to share with him. He is now in the most special place a soul can be: in Heaven and within his friend's and wife's heart."
INFO ABOUT CHAD:
Chandler's nickname of Chad was given to him by his wife Shirley. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, plus training the German Shepherd dogs. In his younger years he played Jai-alai plus baseball in addition to working for Dade County Sheriff's Dept. Chad totally enjoyed driving for a really long distance. He was excellent at driving and maneuvering a vehicle into difficult positions as evidenced by him winning second place two different years in Lee County competition. Chad truly believed in kindness and was sensitive to others' needs and never wanted for himself. Absolutely he was a rare individual being very giving of himself to strangers and animals. Chad was like a big teddy bear with a very kind soft heart towards animals and little children. In fact, Chad whole-heartedly enjoyed his job working with impaired children. He declared these people were more compassion and real than most adults. Shirley feels lucky to have had such a great compassionate "real human being" to be part of her life for so many decades to fill it with warmth, loyalty and love beyond reproach. If only the world could learn from this kind humble man.
Chad's Philosophy of Life: Life is not about the money you have or the position you hold in society. Life is about the wealth you have by helping others and the position you have in others' hearts.
