Charlie was my law client and friend. He was a very kind and decent human being. I was proud to know him when he was in Miami.
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Charles Gilpin Jr. M.D. . We will remember him forever.
Charles A. Gilpin Jr. M.D., died at 94 years old. Loved being a Physician & Surgeon, OB/GYN. for over fifty five years in rural Illinois and Miami, Fl. (Dad delivered over 5,000 babies in 55 yrs. My Father taught everyone he could to believe people were more important than "things') Dr, Gilpin was Husband to June Pascual Gilpin, Son of Violet V. Gilpin & Charles A. Gilpin Sr. of Norris City. ILL. Father to, Karen G. Small, Charles A. Gilpin III., Dr. Kent L. Gilpin, Kris A. Gilpin, and Kraig A. Gilpin, Grandfather to Gloria June Gilpin, Joy C. Gilpin, David Charles Small, Nick----s Small. Great Grandfather to Savanna Gonzales and Katlyn Gonzales , Dad dearly loved his family and our Country. My Father passed away on __________ after a long illness with family in attendance in Kraig's home in Orlando Fl. Dad was a graduate of The Mayo Clinic. Served ably in W.W.II., 8th. U,S, Army Air Corp. finished as lead Navigator.` from the State of Illinois. He completed 37 bombing missions over Germany, was wounded twice awarded the Purple Heart twice, crash landed three times due to heavy combat damage to his B-17, limping back to their base in England. He was also awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross and held numerous other U.S. European Campaign citations, many with triple Oak Leaf Clusters. After the war Dad returned home and used his G.I. Bill to work his way through medical school and the Mayo Clinic. In the Late 1940's and early 1950's Dad was the only licensed Medical Doctor in three\Counties.practiced country medicine
Most of all our Father was a good, kind and loving man. He loved being a Physician and Surgeon prior to, "fire Rescue" I remember Dad would stop at accidents and attend to the critically injured. In over 50 years he delivered more than 4000 babies. Dad was a compassionate, giving man who was always aware of the urgent needs of those around him. He was spiritually honest, forgiving and taught all of us many many wonderful things. Especially that people are more important than things. He believed that one saves the world, one person at a time and lived what he believed.
My Father was,"an old soul" he taught me to strive to be a better man and eventually a beter Father myself.

10/21/2021... Dad it is my 69th. birthday today. My physical was 3 days ago. Tests show my abdominal cancer is back. I have heavy occult bleeding in my stool and it is also positive for cancer antigen. I also have a fractured Left shoulder I don't know how that happend ?.
Dad my dear Annie is very bad and she could pass away anytime now. We both have been offered Hospice care at home. I don't think I could stay here without her. I miss you and everything you taught me every day. I want to be with you. I THINK Everyone else has forgotten how much I loved them. They are all involved in there lives and won't even answer my calls ever. Over the course of the last 5 months there all too busy ??. i hope my children remember how much I love them. Also how proud I am of them always. I HAVE MISSED MY GRANDCHILDREN AND I HOPE THEY REMEMBER HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM.And how much I loved holding them & All I did with them when they lived with me. . I hope they remember how much I loved them and their Mom and Aunit. and how proud I am of ALL OF THEM..
So perhaprs my Dear Dad, We will be together again very soon !! I love you so very much. Thank you for all the good values and how you tried to teach all of us. God's love and rules are so very importent to follow. No one else cared about the family after you left. I did, I sheltered and fed Kris for 5 years. He was penniless and hungry & suicidal. Kraig & Karen turned him away period. Everyone else in the family refused and left him to live or die in the streets. I took care of him to honor you Dad. He is wealthy again so he will be alright. Kris did not repay me or even send me 20 dollars for food when I lost my home. He said I "saved his life" but never helped once in the five years he lived with me. When he got his $ 130,000.00 Northern Trust money. He also had an income of $ 3,400. 00 a mont No. Trust & Soc. Security.. It turned out Kris was getting $ 800.00 a month FROM AN EX-BOSS FOR 34 YEARS SHE SENT HIM HER TITHING AFTER SHE FIRED HIM FROM DISNEY IN 1980. STILL TO THIS DAY HE GETS 2 CHECKS A week every month never fail. FROM HER TAX FREE ??? $ 800.00 a month for 34 years, no tax unreported for 35 + years... YET HE NEVER HELPED ME OVER 5 YEARS I ATE HOT DOGS. So I could pay his electric & food. HE SAVED MONEY SECRETLY EVERY MONTH.. THEN WOULDN'T HELP ME SAVE MY HOME FOR $ 200. DOLLARS A MONTH. HE NEVER SENT ANYTHING... LIKE HE PROMISED... Dad Kris promised me then watched me lose my home. . I lost my home 4 years ago. So soon I will have nowhere to go. Dad I can't live without Annie anyway. It will be good to see you soon. You will love Annie also. I love you & Ilove this Country we both serrved in uniform.
