Mr. Charles Gilliam, Sr. was born July 7, 1935 to the parentage of the late James, Sr. and Estella (Davidson) Gilliam. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Lanier Health Services, Valley, AL.

"Chile," as he was known to many was a product of the West Point Public Schools. During his early years in life, Charles was a devoted employee of West Point Pepperell, where he retired from with over 30 years of service.

Chile was a dedicated father and grandfather.


Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Pearl Phillips Gilliam; two brothers, Horace and James Gilliam; three sisters, Thelma Griggs, Mozelle Young and Inez Winston.

He Ieaves to cherish his precious memories: a loving daughter, Bridgette L Gilliam, West Point, GA; six loving sons, Charles Gilliam, Jr., Derrick Gilliam, Bernard Gilliam, Adrian (LaShelle) Gilliam, Lamana (Tiffiny Carter) Gilliam and Tamarko Gilliam all of West Point, GA; three sisters, Anita Huguley, Gabrella Graham and Bessie Billingslea, West Point, GA; two brothers, Tommy (Dorothy) Gilliam and Joe (Hattie) Gilliam, West Point, GA; one brother-in-law, Eddie "Bullet" Phillips, West Point, GA; five grandchildren, Lacresha Davidson, Charles Davidson, Breuna Gilliam, Alexandria Gilliam,
and Jaylen Gilliam, West Point, GA; 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; special friends, Gwendolyn Hall and Sherrell Barnes.
