A Time To Be Born


Reverend Charles E. Williams was born October 6, 1952 to the late Mrs. Frankie Lee Williams and Mr. Eddie Williams in Greenville, Georgia.


A Time To Grow:  Charles attended Greenville Elementary School and graduated in the Class of 1971 from Greenville High School.  Charles moved to Detroit, Michigan and further his study in Gospel Ministry at New Whitestone Missionary Baptist Church, where he was ordained.

A Time To Serve:  Charles at an early age joined Springfield Baptist Church.

A Time To Die:  Charles fought a good fight, kept the faith and finished his course.  He crossed the finish line February 11, 2014 at eventide to the plaudits of a Heavenly Father who whispered “Child of God, well done.”

In Loving Memory

A Time To Mourn:  Charles is preceded in death by his siblings:  Brother, Bobby Williams; sisters, Mary Frances Reese-Parham and Carolyn Daniels Curry and his grandmother, Ruth Parham.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife “soul mate” Joanne Clements-Williams; his caring and devoted daughters, Shante Williams and Chelsea Phillips; grandchildren, Timothy Colton, Jr., Janelle Burton, Shavon Phillips, William Walker and Vevante Williams “whom he raised”; father-in-law, Earnest Clements; brothers, Irvin W. (Charlotte) Williams, Sr., Delram V. (Mildred) Williams, Sr., Patrick (Melinda) Lee, Christopher Williams and Dexter L. (Tamiko) Williams; sister-in-laws, Marion (Clark) Cleveland, Christine (Darryl) Felix, Debra (Darron) Thomas and Cherita Allen; brother-in-laws, George W. Parham, Johnny Curry, Jr. and Lewis Daniels; devoted friends, Mayo James C. Bray, Mary Joyce Godfrey, and Janie Bell Ellis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.  Farewell until we meet again.
