MY GRANDSON CHARLIE
By Brenda Bonamie
May 5th, 2008
You only stayed eleven days
Yet in that time you took my heart away
I don’t know if I will ever be right
You fought so hard and lost the fight
We begged and pleaded for you to stay
The Lord said “NO”
So I can’t wait to see you another day.
I need to talk about you.
How perfect you were
Tiny fingers and tiny toes
Everyone commented on your little turned up nose
You were so loved by all
And gave so much
I will see you in heaven when I meet my Judge.
Now time has passed
It’s been ten months
The pain’s not as sharp
Just a dull ache
What would you look like?
It’s your daddy I see.
Would you be talking, walking or crawling to me?
I miss you so much and feel so sad,
Yet I know you’re with family and they are so glad!
