Charles “Chuck” “Charlie” Edward Peters, 64, of Rolling
Meadows, IL, formerly of Round Lake Beach, IL passed Monday, May 31, 2021.
Chuck was born to Edward and Mildred (Krohn) Peters, October
3, 1956, in Elgin, Illinois. He attended
Rolling Meadows High School and enjoyed being part of the Mustangs football and
wrestling teams. He graduated in 1974. He married his first wife Diane Peters
(Williams) in 1975. Together they raised
7 children, and were foster parents to over 40.
He later married his current wife, Jamie Peters (Pacay) in 2006, and together
they raised their daughter until his death.
Chuck was a caring husband, loving father, cherished
grandfather, proud great-grandfather and amazing friend to many. As his children grew, each of his 8 children
would joke and say they were his favorite, but the truth is Chuck’s family
meant everything to him, and they were his proudest accomplishment. Chuck was a carbide tool and die maker for 38
years until he retired in 2014, as well as an avid bowler and golfer.
He leaves as his legacy, his beloved wife, Jamie. His eight children, Heather (Chris)
Edwards, Shannon (Ernie) Molina, Jason Peters, Julie (Jason) Cottingham, Korin
Peters, Jayson Peters, Mark Peters, and Savannah Peters. His eight grandchildren, Shawn, Sierra, Anna,
Eddie, Noah, Hailey, Lucy, and Brianna, and his great‑granddaughter,
Elayah. He also leaves to cherish his
memory, his two sisters, Betty (Dan) Loring and Charlene (Jay) Carrick, and two
brothers Wayne Blume and John Blume. His
mother-in-law, Joey Pacay and his father-in-law John (Barbara) Pacay. His brother-in-law, Jeremy Pacay (Brenda
Watkins) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his fur kids, Bugaboo,
Pikachu, and Piper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mildred,
brothers Dean Blume, Chris Blume, and Vance Blume, and his sister Phyllis Miller.
In his leisure time, Chuck enjoyed bowling and his proudest memory
was scoring a nearly perfect game, just 1 pin shy of 300. Chuck enjoyed golf and worked part time for
years at the Round Lake Area Park District’s Renwood golf course. Chuck also coached and played for his church
softball league at the former Softball City in Hainesville, IL as well as
coached a women’s softball league in Rolling Meadows. Chuck also enjoyed cheering on his favorite
sports teams, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Tuesday, July
27, 2021 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The
evening will begin with Pastor Randy Rozelle from St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington
Heights leading in a short service, followed by a gathering of family and
friends for storytelling and sharing fond memories of Chuck. This event will take place at Chuck’s “second
home,” Arlington Lanes Bowling Alley, 3435 N Kennicott Ave,
Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A
private interment will be held for family only on another date.
The family would like to thank their friends and family for
the multitude of prayers for Chuck while he was ill, and the continuous prayers
and support for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck’s memory can be made
to the family to help with funeral expenses, or to Illinois Special Olympics in
honor of his youngest son, Mark.
