I especially appreciate the Judge as a mentor of mine for community service with the Sertoma Center and the Knoxville Downtown Sertoma Club. Howard's life was filled with public service, community service, church service, service to his university, and, most importantly, a deep and undying love for all of his family.
With his mind sharp and clear to the end of his days, Judge continued to share meaningful life lessons with all of us who would take the time to open our ears and reflect upon the wisdom that he shared so freely and unselfishly. We are assured that Howard has been raised up in perfection to the heavenly kingdom. We join with those of us left behind to struggle with our earthly travails in mourning his loss and wishing for God's blessing on all of Howard's family and friends.
