Charles Rilan Williams, 68, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 at his home.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late John Nolan and Mary Wilson Williams.  He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Lowes Foods of Oxford.

A memorial celebrating his life will be held at a later date.

Surviving are two daughters, Angela Williams Allen of Oxford, Monique Williams Bartholomew of Anchorage Alaska, two sisters; Judith W. Preddy, Yvonne W. Clayborne, both of Oxford, two brothers; Tony Willams and Gary Williams also of Oxford, and five grandchildren.

Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting the Williams family.

I was so sorry to hear about Charles. 
Jimmy and I both had known him a lot of years. Just talked to him a few weeks ago. I know he will be missed by his family.

Sadly, having to say goodybe to Charles. As a kid growing up, I knew him as "Chewing Gum Charlie"!!! Rest In Peace, my friend!!
