Charles T. Oliver, 71, of Alliance, AL, entered the gates of Heaven, on Sunday, November 22, 2020. He was born on April 03, 1949, in Marion Co., AL, to Edith Hutcheson Oliver.

Charles was retired from Jim Walter Resources and Jefferson County Road and Transportation. He enjoyed retired life with his wife, Dianne. He was a faithful member of River Road Baptist Church. He loved spending his time serving the Lord in various ways, spending time with his family, working on his property, and camping. He was “dad” to so many and a stranger to none.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, of 13 years. He will be forever missed by his children, Connie Oliver, Nicole Ward (Andy), Mike Atkins (Brenda), Shannon Smith (Jeff), Chris Atkins (Amber).  Grandchildren- Ella & Nolan Ward, Abrea, Michaela, & Logan Atkins, Blaine & Tate Smith, Abby, Zoey, & Cadey Atkins.

Siblings- Onese Wilburn, Annette Crocker, Richard Oliver (Pat), Ray Oliver (Robbie), Brother-in-Law Leland Strack, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, church family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his Mom, Edith Hutcheson Oliver, Sons, Randy & Michael Lynn. Sisters, Mildred Oliver and Margie Strack.

Charles’ legacy of love for the Lord and for others will live on forever.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future.

I worked at food giant from the time I was 16 to 19 years old and Charles always looked out for me there.
Charles was like a second grandfather to me in times and I always enjoyed listening to his stories wether they were true or not.
He told me he was a bomb technician and I think he pulled my leg so many times but he was the sweetest man! He was a great Man of God and he made my time at food giant memorable. R.I.P. Charles Oliver

I worked with Charles for about 3 and a half years and he worked with my dad at the mines and I remember me and him talking about everything old movies how I wanted to get on in the mines, christ, and just worldly advise and he never shyed away from telling it like it was you never got empty reply he always said what he ment and they say if you can leave the world better then when you found it and make a few people happy you lived a successful life well I can say Charles lived a more then successful life cause I know me and everyone else is better having just known and talked to him.
