Charles Stewart Wheeler, 80, a longtime resident of Butner passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at his home.
A native of Franklin County, the son of the late Eli M. and Nona Privett Wheeler. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Butner and retired from the state of North Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Butner by Rev. Lenny Rogers. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville, NC at 3:00 PM.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Ausley Wheeler of the home, two sons, Don S. Wheeler (Carol Caffey) of Durham, Charles B. Wheeler of Creedmoor, two granddaughters, April Nicole Wheeler of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Alexandria “Danielle” Wheeler of Creedmoor, three stepdaughters, Tereca Batts (Joe) of Clayton, Phyllis Moore (Timmy) of Angier, Sandra Batiste (James) of Raleigh, a brother, Dave Wheeler (Barbara) of Maryland, nieces and nephews, and several step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Belle House Wheeler, a sister, Mable Cash, and three brothers, Derrick, Winston and Claude Wheeler.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2011 prior to the service at First Baptist Church in Butner and other times at the home.
