Charles Kozler Obituary

Charlie was born in Little Ferry, NJ and passed away peacefully in his Anchorage home surrounded by loving family. Charlie was a proud graduate of New York Military Academy, which helped form his character, principles and long lasting friendships.

In 1949 he was on the All American Swim Team while attending N.Y.M.A. At the age of 21 he served in the US Army Counter Intelligence based in Panama where he made many lifelong friends. Charlie came to Alaska in 1958, he began a flying career for Reeve-Aleution Airways that lasted 32 years. He set a world record for flying the Aleutian Chain, logging more than 34,000 hours. Charlie owned Kozler-Hausner Construction, and became an accomplished wood-working craftsman. Charlie married Hanni from Austria in 1964, He was her prince of a guy (Schatz). Charlie and Hanni's favorite getaway spot was Kona-Hawaii where they have wonderful friends.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 48 years Hanni Kozler; his two sons Robert and Richard Kozler; daughter-in-laws Patricia and Lisa Kozler; grandchildren Chanel, Charlsea and Cody Kozler; sister Marion O'Hare and her family; he was looking forward to the arrival of his first great-grandchild.

There will be a private funeral at Columbarium Wall.
