Uncle Charlie I sure am going to miss you so. You have always been there for me and my children when we needed you most. Thanks to you I have many stories to share, times when we laughed, just hanging out and some sad times. I also gained knowledge from a lot of the conversations we had. I remember trying deer meat for the first time because of you. One story I share the most is when I was on the day of my baby shower from Krystal. Thanks to you my Mija had a diaper bag. I have been an emotional roller coaster since you left this earth but I know you are where you need to be. You will always be in my heart, you might be out of sight but will never be forgotten. I love you uncle Charlie.

Charlie loved to give gifts. He would often create special items and then give them to people as gifts. He put a lot of love and energy into the gifts he gave away. He found great joy in helping others. He was a man with a very generous heart.

I will always cherish the moments we shared. Thank you for the lessons you taught to help me become the person I am today. Whether I was crying as a young child, being difficult as a teen or too busy as an adult, you still loved me. I will miss the times when we went for a ride in the old pick up to grab an ice cream or when we just sat on the couch to watch an old western. Your memories are always with me. You will always be loved.
I miss you!

His Life

My Life

February 25, 2021
Charlie was born in Pomona, CA in 1946. Beloved son of Victoriano and Margaret. He was the 9th child of 15. He attended school in the Cucamonga School District. He was married to Evelyn in 1973. He helped raise 2 children as his own, Diana and David. He later had a daughter, Angelina. He was divorced in 1993. He never remarried. He resided in CA the majority of his life and a short while in CO. He was truly jack of all trades and a master of welding.
He was always busy with things he loved to do. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. As an avid outdoorsman he respected the natural resources the land provided. He also liked planting and harvesting. He often picked from fresh grown sources. He said it reminded him of his childhood. He could build, repair, and create most anything. He was always looking to improve the home in which he lived, maintain the things the family needed, and make things he pleasured.
Charlie had a special place in is heart for helping others. Whether someone needed a place to stay, money, or food, he was overjoyed to help. It didn't matter if he knew you or not. These kind gestures filled him with a great sense of pride and made him the man he was. Someday, I hope to have such a generous heart.
He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

I Love You Dad!

Life's Memories

February 28, 2021
There are so many fond memories I can share with our stepdad, Charlie.  Charlie was always a hard worker who provided for his family.  I remember the first house he and my mom purchased together.  Soon after, a swimming pool was put in the backyard.  We had so many fun times as kids enjoying that swimming pool.  Charlie would take us camping along the coast of California.  He would take us to the beach at midnight for grunion hunting.  He would dive for abalone- back when it was legal to do so.  He made the best ceviche!  He could have had his one DIY show.  I am amazed at all of the things he would make and the creative house projects he would do himself.  He was a true handyman.  It is funny when I think about us picking olives as kids and then he would cure them in buckets of lye in the garage.  I tell you what, if I had to live a survival challenge, I would want to be on Charlie's team.  He could catch and eat anything.  I know I ate a lot of different things growing up thanks to Charlie! My childhood was an interesting one for sure!  I'm grateful you were able to come to Colorado last summer to celebrate Shea's graduation.  It was great to see you enjoy horseback riding, ziplining, and white water rafting.  You always stayed strong and adventurous.  May you rest in peace knowing that you touched many lives.

To my grandpa Charlie

February 28, 2021
Hi grandpa, i just want to thank you for all the great memories i have of you. From always being my strong grandpa doing push-ups, dancing anywhere, letting me capture boomerangs of you, making jokes, bringing me handmade leather purses, bracelets, slingshots, olive picking, fishing, bbq’s, showing up in dif cars every month lol, taking your long walks and running into everyone bc well, you knew everybody lol, being proud of all my accomplishments, going to my games, and the list goes on. My last memory i have of you is our fishing trip in February. It was just you and me for a second as we waited for everyone else and i told you i loved you and you said you loved me too. As we went our separate ways that evening i gave you tons of kisses and told you i loved you. Not realizing it would be the last time. You didn’t have to say much because your actions proved you loved me too throughout my childhood and adulthood. I’m thankful for all that you taught me, you lived a simple life and wouldn’t have it any other way. You enjoyed every day like it was your last. You were so funny grandpa! i just think about you and the silly things you did flood my mind and heart. I’ll cherish those memories forever. I love you so much and will continue to live in the way you have. Kind, strong, funny, giving, adventurous, and also, the don’t mess with me attitude haha i know you’re at peace, no longer in pain. I will miss you so much, and will miss buying you flannels and slippers for Christmas. Rest In Peace, my sweet Grandpa Charlie! I love you & know in my heart i will see you again in Heaven❤️ Love, your granddaughter Evangelina
