The Tent With No Sticks

July 21, 2012

As Dad and Jackie were packing the car to leave my house after a visit she noticed him dragging out a bag of CSR insulation and asked him what it was so he told her it was a tent he had bought from some dude on the golf course for $50.She of course went into panic mode about sleeping in the bush till dad said "it's fine jackie it only cost $50 cause its got no sticks!" She didn't understand but she believed him..

A couple of years later Dad and David were putting the insulation in the roof, Jackie walking over the bag for an hour when she suggested getting that tent with no sticks out to put over the clothes line for us to have christmas lunch under, we all just looked at each other in utter amazement till Dad said "oh, I sold it awhile ago", such a pity she replied.....

Hissing Sids

July 21, 2012

I remember Dad not wanting Jackie to go into his shed so he told her that it was surrounded by hissing sids. They look like your average garden worm, he said, but don't be fooled. They will spit toxic poison in your face and you will burn and die!

I thought he had gone too far yet again but she believed him for years.
