Visits to Ohio

July 30, 2013

I have wonderful memories of all of Aunt Charolette's trips to Ohio since around 1989.   So many laughs and talks that we would have around the table at mom's, Charolette's sister, Ruby.    Mom didn't travel anymore due to my dad's ill health so Aunt Charolette would come on the Bus and once on the train or Amtrack on yr. Most of the time Linda and Pam would bring her and she would spend 2-3 weeks with Mom.  She loved being with Mom and going to the Nursing Home to spend time with my dad all those years.  She was such a Blessing and Comfort for mom during those years.   The 2 of them would go shopping and out to eat all the time.
One time when mom was having problems with the neighbor always sitting in our back yard or just crossing through the yard to go to someone else property the neighbor would try looking through mom's porch windows.   One day Aunt Charolette was standing on the inclosed porch and saw the man peaking and she opened the back porch door and screamed at him to get off the property.  Then they put a sign in the back yard "keep off" and the man would slip over and turn the sign to face his property....he was such a nasty man.

Aunt Charolette came to Ohio with her family and the 2 families became "one".  We loved having our Illinois family with us and the kids loved getting to know each other.....Nicole and Christina at that time.  Then grandchildren came along later.

She loved to talk about her Soap Opra Family with us and we always got a kick out of the discussions.

Most of all as Charolette's health was getting worse over the last 15 yrs.  She loved talking about her relationship with Her Lord and Savior.  That brought much joy to our hearts having Heavenly talks.

Bob and I would visit her in Illinois often,  Ususally Bob would drop me off at her home and leave me for a couple of days while he would go do his geneology work. So I got to spend lots of time in Illinois also. I enjoyed those days with her.

After mom passed, Aunt Charolette became a replacement for me.  We spent many days on the phone with short talks....I will always remember the good days with her and our many talks.

Now she is with her family who had gone on before her and she's at Peace.

Love you and miss you.
