Charlotte Myra Ayscue Dixon, 75, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham on Monday, October 8, 2018.
Charlotte was a native of Vance County and was the daughter of the late Woodrow Ayscue and Lois Jackson. She was a longtime employee of Ace Hardware in Oxford, a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and was a part-time substitute teacher for many years. She loved her flower garden and her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford by the Rev. Carroll Glasscock. Burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Melvin Thomas Dixon of the home, two sisters, Violet Hoyle and Patsy Seaman both of Henderson, a sister-in-law, Faye Lasek of Chapel Hill, two special nieces, Lisa Harmon and Renae Thacker , special nephews, Philip Seaman and Michael Lasek, great nieces, Emily Thacker and Sarah Thacker and great nephews, Gabe and Dustin Harmon and Jarrett and Jacob Seaman. She was predeceased by her brothers, Larry and Mickey Ayscue.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, Friday, October 12, 2018, prior to the funeral, at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at the home.

Melvin, you and Charlotte are among the most loved group of people. It saddens me greatly to here of her passing. Sending prayers and love to you and your family from Kansas. Thank you and Charlotte for all the LOVE given and shown to me and my daughter when I worked at Dr.Day's. Charlotte would be very proud of Kishla, she's a Junior in college.

Melvin, my heart broke when I heard about Charlotte. She was one of the most special people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. She was a true friend, so kind and selfless.. my prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Melvin and family, oh how sorry we are to hear that Charlotte has passed. What a sweet, kind and gentle friend she was. Always so glad to see us. Charlotte always had a smile and hug to give. She was a special one of a kind person. Deepest Sympathy to all. Matt sends his love also. Charlotte was always so kind and loving to him. We love you both.
