Cherie passed away at home after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family, they were truly blessed to spend these past 7 weeks by her side.

Cherie was the loving wife for 20 years to Kevin P Gibbons. Cherie is survived by her mother Marylyn Grinnel Davall, Kathleen (sister in law) Jerry, Donald & Samantha Pasquariello, Mark (brother-in-law) and Anita Gibbons, along with relatives in NY, MD, SC, FL and AZ. Cherie was predeceased by her father Ronald Davall.

Cherie grew up in Dryden New York on her family’s dairy farm.  She graduated from Dryden High School and graduated from Tompkins Cortland Community College with an associate’s degree in Photography & Art.  After graduation Cherie began her career with Piedmont Airlines which eventually became US Air. She held the position of Ticket Agent and Customer Service Representative for over 15 years between Ithaca, NY and Philadelphia International Airport.

Cherie was very fortunate to have a very loving group of friends from her life in Dryden who remained with her through her final days, self-titled “We’ve got each other’s backs”. They are a fierce and loyal group who supported each other, always being there for one another.

Cherie loved everything arts & crafts, creating doll houses with Victorian details to decorating her home.  Cherie loved to create wreaths and flower arrangements including making the flowers for her wedding. Her favorite holiday was Christmas for which she created “Father Christmas’s”. Cherie loved Christmas from decorating her home and tree’s to setting a “beautiful table” for holidays.

Cherie loved old movies and watching her favorite TV shows, watching nonstop Food Network with Kevin.  Another passion was reading, either a book or on a tablet either way was enjoyable.

Cherie loved her pets who were her and Kevin’s children.  Grimmy, Devon, Nelson, Gabby the pups to Pita (baby), Tumbles, Mandy, Callie, Gracie, and Widget her kitty’s.

Deepest condolences to Kevin and to Marilyn. Cherie was part of our Lake Road gang. I have fond memories of ice skating with her and the other neighborhood kids behind her parent's house for our after school entertainment. In later years, she kept in touch through Facebook posting pictures of the Lake Road farm and by offering encouraging words to my family. Cherie was a wonderful, warm, and caring person. She will be deeply missed. May Jesus hold her in His grace.

Cherie was in my class at Dryden High School..friends with everyone, funny, sweet, always ready for an adventure. We kept in touch with FB and connected thru her love of family, her Dryden family and animals. She was always there to listen, lend advice and say a prayer for anyone hurting or in need of comfort. She will be so missed and was so fierce in trying to get better over the years. My prayers to Kevin, Cherie's Mom, family and all of my Dryden family who are mourning her loss. Give Kathy and our other friends, gone too soon a huge hug for me. Love you!

Cherie is one of my dearest friends.  We share so many child hood and adult memories .  We stayed close later in life through writing letters to one another, I have those letters to reflect on and will cherish her memory forever.  Give your Dad a huge hug from me Cherie!
Marylyn and Kevin, I pray that you find peace knowing she is safe with her savior. I am sure she will watch over us all from above and let us know she is OK.

Sweet loving Cherie

Cherie was such a loving and caring friend with a great personality. She was a great listener always had an ear to lend when I was going through some hard times. We had so many great fun times growing up and times of course that we got ourselves in trouble. She was funny and so much fun to be around I remember being at her house in the kitchen we were helping her mom making dinner. Cherie showed me how to make a really simple but delicious dish. I am going to miss her greatly. Peace and love Cherie God be with you my friend.
