On December 1, 1958, the world was graced with a beautiful and bright woman by the name of Cheryl Christine Calhoun. She was born in Texarkana, AR to Nancy Jo and Billy Burt Cole.

Cheryl was a kind and fiery woman. Her personality could light up a room. She was a little mix of soul and gypsy. She was a daughter, a mother, a wife, a best friend, a grandmother, a sister and a second mom to many.

Cheryl met and married the love of her life Louis Hollis Calhoun in the summer of 1977. He walked into  the 7/11 to get a pack of Kool cigarettes and an Icee and their love story began. They spent 42 beautifully crazy years together.

Cheryl was best known as “momma” to Christy Justin and Brandon Calhoun and as “granny” to her only granddaughter Haley Cambron and Son in Law Clarence Cambron, however he was always a Son in her eyes. She was a sister to Billy Johnny Cole and has a sister-in-law and best friend by the name of Shannon Gamble. She was a granddaughter to Shorty and Wilma Gates. She was an Auntie to Stephanie Danielle and Kasey Maria, her grand nephews Braylon, Kayden,Ezra and MJ.

Cheryl enjoyed reading, cooking, and being out on the lake with her two boys. She was an amazing storyteller and could make you feel like you were right there. Cheryl loved animals and was a momma to her six little furbabies and a Granny to 7 Grandfurs.

She was surrounded by so many people and touched so many lives in her short time she was here on Earth. Although she had many health issues and often a hard life, Cheryl always put others first. She would give her last dollar to buy you a meal and would make sure everyone else was okay before taking care of herself.

Cheryl Christine Calhoun left this world on March 24, 2019. She wished to be cremated and spread on Millwood Lake in Ashdown, AR to spend eternity on the place she loved the most.
