Her Life

My story of Cheryl

August 13, 2014

Born on a hot August day at Frankford Torresdale Hospital, 6 lbs. 6 ounces. A beautiful baby girl, my little girl.

Growing up she never liked dolls, would rather play with hot wheels, trucks or build Legos.  Loved to tumble flips or anything dangerous, a care free spirit.  Loved bugs, looked under every rock ( when we stayed up the mountains at Grandmoms and Grandpops trailer) for salamanders, would pick them up, so proudly,  Her sister thought this was disgusting, dirt never bothered her.

Cher's favorite memories were when we had a pop up trailer...loved our trip to the Chesapeake Bay, loved crabbing, swimming, exploring, and sitting by the fire at night toasting marshmallows and telling stories and laughing until bedtime, her second favorite trip was Hershey Park, she told me when I have children I'm gonna take them camping in a trailer.  Family time was always number one with us.

The years pass by quickly, the teen years...now we are a diva...fashion, hair, nails and of course boys!  Dances, dates, proms...my girl is becoming a woman!

Next step she becomes a mom...swears that this will be the one and only grandchild she ever has (told her that's why they call it labor), my girl is now truly a woman as I watch the birth of my grandson, Quentin, so handsome of course!.

I watched her raise her son with so much pride, always wanting to do more for him, I was so proud.

My girl is going to have another child, not my Cher.  She has met her soul mate...she marries and again I watch as she brings into this world a beautiful baby girl, my Skyler!  She loves dressing her up, bows and all the thrills that go with girls.

I am a very lucky mom, my daughter shares the good and bad times, wants me in her life, even likes to show me off to her friends, she makes proud and happy.  Mother and friend, what else could a mom want...

We know how this part of the story goes...but she will always be that free spirit, my beautiful butterfly until we are together once more!
