Her Life

My daughter, Cheryl

October 13, 2013

At the time, Cheryl was murdered she was working at Maurices dress shop in the Mall in Hot Spring's, Arkansas. She ws assitant manager, and had worked there for almost two years. She loved her job, and was very good at it. I used to visit with her every chance that I got. I saw her the day before she was shot. We walked thru the mall and talked, it is a special memory for me. It was to be the last day I would see her, and my mind goes over it many days. Cheryl was a loving person, and always wanting to give. The day after I saw her {the day of her murder} she was so excited for it was one day before Thanksgiving, and she was expecting her pay check. When she got her check she took off work a few hours early to do some Christmas shopping, and pick up things for Thanksgiving. She arrived home late, around 6p.m. It was beginning to get dusty dark. A man was waiting for her. He approached her with a gun. I will only speculate on how she must have felt. Being so happy that day, and then to completely fear for your life. No one should ever have to face death the way Cheryl did. There has not been anything done to find the killer. O I am sure that the Hot Spring's police did there little investigation. But, after 10 years a new police chief has come into office and we still have nothing. In fact I spoke with the police chief, and he told me he had never heard of Cheryl's murder case. So, we continue to wait for some sort of justice, but justice does not seem to be for Cheryl or for us. She remains a memory for us, but never will leave our thoughts.
