Cheryl was born to Donald and Margaret Mahony in Berkeley, California. She was the third of 5 children. She graduated from Pitzer College and Duke University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in adult cardiology at Duke. She was always a loyal “Blue Devil”. She practiced adult cardiology in Lexington, KY and then in Jackson, WY until her retirement in 2002. Cheryl greatly enjoyed being out-of-doors and her beloved cats. 

She is predeceased by her father Donald V. Mahony. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Mahony; sisters Lynn, Diane, and Jan; brother, Richard; nieces, Maggie, Cady, Elizabeth, and Grace; great nephew, Henry; and great niece, Clara.

Her family celebrated her life privately. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
