His Life

Chief Funso Julius Longe was born on 21st October, 1940 into the Akogbona family house in Ikere, Ekiti State, Nigeria. His father was Late Pa Samuel Olowofoyeku Odina Longe, a reputable Cocoa Merchant in his time and his mother was Late Mrs. Rachael Omobimininu Longe.

Funso Longe was a consistent and passionate lover which was a legacy he handed down to his generation. He got married in 1971 to Mrs. Remi Longe (Nee Olowolafe) whom he first met in 1963. The union took place on 9th December, 1971 at Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and is blessed with Children and Grandchildren.

Being a passionate writer, Funso Longe wrote several academic books in both Economics and Government which drove so many students into success. They are:

- Modern Economics of West Africa (Ordinary Level) 1972

- Modern Economics of West Africa (Advance Level) 1982

- Modern Government of West Africa (Ordinary Level) 1974

- Questions and Answers on Economics (Ordinary Level) 1978

He was a passionate follower of Christ.
