I read with great sadness the passing away of your dad CHIEF AKINTUNDE ROTIMI. He will be greatly missed.

Your Dad was an Uncle Friend and Mentor. He was someone who freely and willingly gave of his resources to me and several others that I know. His dynamism enthusiasm and energy was greatly visible and positively deployed.

I am having the same feeling of loss and pain as I did when I lost my dad (his colleague at the National Assembly) over twenty years ago. Their ages at death was about the same which makes it even more painful.

Your Dad was brother of Mrs Lawoyin who was wife of my Dads Best Friend and Best Man Mr Lawoyin of Kaduna/Osogbo. The relationship goes very far back to when your Dad as a young Man was living with his Sister and her husband before proceeding to England for further studies and we now are more or less relations.

Your Dad was a fighter. My Dad introduced us to each other at the UPN National Convention at Mainland Hotel in 1979. He had not yet got the Party nomination which he eventually won. We took to each other instantaneously. I had hoped, having won the battle for car loan to Civil Servants in 1976 that his wisdom energy and resourcefulness would find home in some other place or issue of National prominence.

Be consoled by the fact that he lived a life of service and of value to others. His records speak for themselves and you and your sisters have a heritage worth being proud of. Please stand firmly with your Mom and Sisters in this painful season. Needless to say My Mom and Brother send their prayers in this hour of grief.

God give us the grace to bear the terrible loss.
