Dear Beautiful Mummy Ogunyemi,
You are very much loved and will be sorely missed. Your sweet and gentle spirit, your grace and beauty have left a wonderful legacy for your children, grandchildren and friends around the world.

You knew my beloved Mum when you both worked in UCH, Ibadan as nurses in the 1980s. I am sure you are both rejoicing in heaven today.
Heaven has gained an angel.

May your memory remain blessed forever.

My deepest sympathies to Papi, Toyosi, the whole family and Oasis of Love Christian Centre church members.

Much love

Dearest Mummy / Grandma,

When the scriptures say that death is an enemy, it is so true. The only thing that makes your passing bearable is the blessed hope that we will meet again one day.

Until then, we will continue to hold your memory in our hearts of your gentleness, your kindness, your poise, your grace, your faith and strength in the Lord, your wonderful cooking, your amazing stories, your sweet smelling perfume and lastly your beautiful smile. You were a class act, Mummy and we love you and miss you dearly.

Sleep well until we meet again.

Love,

I don’t want to admit it that you’re gone, it’s too painful. I know I will always cherish the sweet memories of you. The times we spent baking, decorating or just ‘old talk’ will always be fresh in my mind. Your sweet, gentle demeanor and considerate ways will always be there to draw on. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to know you and spend time with you.
Continue to rest on Aunty. All your children and grandchildren and great children will carry on your legacy. You have done well. Sleep on in Jehovah’s memory. I love you. We all do, Tunde, Motundupe, Ayoimiide and I will always carry you in our hearts.

My treasured Aunt, in your God fearing, inimitable , classy, elegant, graceful, warm and caring style, You came, you saw, you conquered and took no prisoners. You remained resolute, untarnished, unbowed in the face of adversity and struggle, and your crown never slipped but stayed positioned.
You blazed your trail and we looked on in awe.
So, I bow in respect, I honour you, pay homage to your passing, and retain all the glorious, beautiful, regal, inspiring memories of whom you were, for THIS is what i will treasure, and that which will never fade...

Our dear Chief Mrs. Thelma Ogunyemi shall always remain our loving mother. I often remember, for me, her most favourite story she told us about her "little Jim boots" which readily made us chuckle, smile and laugh as we, at those times, shared cakes and special delicacies that she made for us and her children. It is nearly impossible to put into words her genuine, heartfelt loving kindness, and warmth towards us all in Nigeria (i.e when she was one of my first employers) and which even continued when she settled back in England. We must celebrate her beautiful life having the re-assurance of the blessings of Christ's atonement which promises us that we shall all see and be with her again in eternity. I am certain that her soul is at peace in Christ. We miss and love you and would never forget your goodness and neighbourliness. May the Grace of Christ strengthen, uphold and bless her whole family and friends especially at these times exceedingly, abundantly, more than we all can ever ask for, hope for or ever imagine in Jesus name. Amen. Skyy, Fiona and family.

Dear Grandma Thelma,
You are gone but not forgotten and you will be greatly missed. You have been like a mother to me and a true grandmother to my children, for the love and care you have give to us ❤️
I haven't forgotten those cake exhibitions we went to far and near and the times we spent just shopping around.
Now the time has come for you to rest,
So go in peace; you've earned your sleep.
Your love in our heart we'll eternally keep,
For all you've given is your best
Love from Wendy, Arthur, Hannah, Joshua.

Grandma, mummy, I miss you. When you told me about the circumstances of when you first moved to Nigeria, I remember telling you how brave you were. You were so brave, so courageous with a calm, quiet spirit that I will miss so much. You could be tough when needed but you were also so kind and gentle. I will especially miss you on the Sunday morning prayers. When I feel down thinking about your passing, I think about you moving so freely and doing all sorts of wonderful activities in your rejuvenated body, free from pain and the cares and anxieties of planet Earth, and I am not so sad. I am so glad that I met you and I know I will see you again. Are you making cakes for them in Heaven? I am sure you are. Rest in peace mummy, till we meet again.

What can I say, I am short of words. I have lost a friend and a sister for you were like a sister to me. With whom will I be having our current affairs chat that we used to have at church and on the phone. The times we had at our First Aid table (station) during our street parties at church. We had eyes like hawks checking unruly behaviour. I will have nobody to do these things with. Dear friend and sister, we will meet one day at Jesus feet. I miss you.

Oh Grandma

How can I thank you enough for all you have done for me and my family. You have been my support my cheerleader and my friend. You have taught me the importance of looking after myself always leading by examples with your impeccable dress and style.

Your open door policy always welcomed me with a smile, a chat on the lastest goings on with your family, who you were so proud of and slice of cake.

How all the memories have come flooding back, our shopping trips, long evening chats.
The big smile and hugs and greeted with Grandma's speciality dishes waiting on the stove upon collecting the children every evening . Your words of wisdom and advise strenghened my faith.  The saying that you never miss the water till the well runs dry is so true as in this case.

May you bring as much joy to all you meet on your next stage of your journey.  You will forever live on in our hearts and minds.
Love Sharon and Chris

You were truly an inspiration to all and will be greatly missed.
Love you lots and may you Rest in Perfect Peace with our Father in heaven.

Grandma Fifi,

I was hoping I would wake up and find out I was dreaming and you are still with us.  We still had plans that we talked about, a trip to  Grenada, thanksgiving at church, and many celebrations.

Mummy, seeing you every week, before lockdown restricted our moments after church,  will remain in my heart forever. We all looked up to you.  Always faithful and committed in every way. Even when it was difficult you were always faithful. You have run the race, fought the fight and you left satisfied. The right wing has lost a faithful general but Heaven has gained another overcomer.

Mummy, every celebration we had was graced with a special cake from you. You believed in me and always encouraged me.  You were so gracious and always grateful. I love the way you say 'thank you my darling', your laughter and wonderful stories about UCH Ibadan, Grenada and Aruba.

I will miss our phone conversations. You always say "I take one day at a time" when I asked how you were.

Sometimes, when I was under pressure your gentle touch was so reassuring that all is well.  Mummy, thank you for always looking out for Lekan in your own special way and for being a sister and friend to 'Grandma day by day'.

Thank you for being an amazing mum and a super sonic grandma to all of us.  I miss you but I know we will see again.

We your children rise up and call you blessed. Rest in peace.

We thank God for a life well and beautifully lived. I'm sure most of us will never forget the warmth and love that always accompanied her presence; a great woman and a loving mother & mentor to as many who crossed her path.

I'm positive heaven is rejoicing and dancing and we should all be comforted in the fact she lived a fulfilling & remarkable life!
