This memorial website was created in memory of Daddy, Mazi Chima H. O. Ofong, who slipped into eternity on July 4, 2018. A greatly loved Husband, Father( & Father-in-law), Grand-Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend; the quintessential gentleman, pillar of integrity and bulwark of support to all that met him in life.
Daddy, it remains incredulous that we are at this juncture where we have our hearts overflowing with fond memories of your tireless love but unable to hear the rich timbre of your voice or be enveloped in your characteristic warm bear hug.
You are sorely sorely missed daddy. You are painfully missed each passing minute.
You remain the essence of your family, Daddy, you remain the flavour in us.
We all miss you interminably.

Four years later, still so unbelievable!
You are forever loved. Every day.
We are grateful to you for all you did and keep doing for us even posthumously, through the institutions and processes you put in place prior to taking this one-way trip to the celestial chambers.
Being your scion is a significant impetus we are fortunate to have to do life with.
You remain our incredible grand oak!
We miss you ever sorely daddy. We miss you so much
...forever loved, forever missed, forever yours
Time goes by so fast but your memories and legacies that you lived a good life are still around us. To your beloved family, may God fill your absence with comfort and joy.
Daddy, may your gentle soul continue to rest with our Lord. Amen
I was privileged to see at close quarters your unquantifiable passion for Novotel Port Harcourt. Your dexterity in handling issues will sorely be missed.
Uncle Chima, you are truly a good man in who there was no guile. I thank God I met you in this journey of life. Your fond memories will always remain with me.
My prayer is that the Lord will comfort and uphold the wife, children and family members you left behind in Jesus Name
Rest in the bosom of the Lord Brother, till we meet to part no more.

You were a strong pillar of support to your family especially young Muna and will be sorely missed by all who knew you. I for sure will miss the great conversations and excellent culinary skills.

It’s so hard to believe that you’ve transitioned to heaven. The void left by your departure is palpable, and you are sorely missed.
May God grant all of us mourning your absence the fortitude to bear this huge loss, but particularly may He tightly envelope Aunty Nky, Ngozi, Chinekwu and Kene with his unfailing comfort and grace during this difficult time.
Rest on in perfect peace Uncle Chima
Rest in the Lord Bro Chima. You will be sorely missed. I will miss you most especially.

A SPECIAL CLASS GENTLEMAN
Though you've slept in the Lord, your legacies live on. We miss you indeed but we're consoled by the assurance that we shall all re-unite on the resurrection morning.

There was a story of when we were still in fgce, a certain young man visited Ngozi. Uncle Chima returned to take an item from the house. On leaving, he walked through the sitting room, at the door he said calmly "young man, you will have to leave before I do". Goes to show the disciplinarian and patient dad you were. Your children have also shown by the quality of their lives the good impact you left on them. You will be missed sir. May your gentle soul continually rest in peace, adieu.
My Matriculation
In 1999, when I and Ngozi did our matriculation in Nsukka, my dad had issues with his vehicle that day so was stranded on getting back to Enugu. The Late Mazi not knowing who my dad was offered to assist him and drove him back to Enugu. Seemed like a small gesture but my dad has never forgotten that gesture and he will always speak good of Mazi Chima Ofong. Incidentally I just realised that they were age mates. R.I.P Sir.
