Biography – Barrister Carol Chinwe Eburue, 1964-2012

Born at Onitsha, Anambra State of Nigeria on September 19, 1964, Barrister Chinwe Eburue began her journey through life as the fourth child of late Sir John Eburue and his wife, Lady Christiana Eburue.  Sir John was known for his discipline, hard work, philanthropy, and Chinwe acquired those traits from the parents.

     As a young teenager, her potential was unmistakable.  Fondly called “Mama Crusade” by many, Chinwe was instrumental in firmly establishing the Crusade Development Movement in Umuaka, Imo State, Nigeria.  She was spotted and recruited by the camp of Jim Nwobodo, former Governor of Anambra State, into the party’s campaign youth wing.  She bagged a bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Jos, Nigeria and was called to the bar, May 11, 1987.  She practiced law for a while and decided to continue in politics.  As the Director-General in Governor Evans Enwerem’s government, representing Imo State at Abuja and Lagos, she put Imo State in the limelight at federal level.  The late Head of State, General Sanni Abacha used to refer to her as “the youngest, most talented commissioner” in the whole nation. She is dear to our Lord Jesus Christ, and in 2006, she was nominated as an adviser to the Archbishop of Owerri diocese, Nigeria. On December 19, 2012,Chinwe was involved in an airport accident at the Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos, and went to be with the Lord.   

     Before her sudden and tragic exit, Chinwe was the MD/CEO of Monogram and Logo Creations Ltd among many other companies.  She was responsible for the day to day administration of the companies and provided purposeful leadership.  She attended regular courses and seminars in Germany and United States to keep abreast of technology and modernization.

     Among her achievements is making Monogram & Logo Creations the leading monogramming company in Nigeria.  Also, she became the sole distributor of Happy Industrial Embroidery Machines, Compucon Punching Software EOS/industrial and STICTCG.  She later became the West African distributor for Happy Embroidery Machines and participated in Trade Fairs and Exhibitions in Nigeria, Europe and United States.  She was a member of Apapa Boat Club, Ikoyi Club 1938, Nigerian German Business Council and National Flag Foundation (USA).  She also received the following honors: Nominated  Outstanding Female Entrepreneur 2004 (Nigerian Leadership Award 2004), Role Model Award 2003 (MIDAS International), Fresh Award of Excellence 2003 (Fresh Magazine).

     Chinwe was instrumental to the success of many, including politicians, businessmen and women, and executives.  She will be greatly missed by many people in Umuaka, Imo State, entire nation of Nigeria, Europe, USA, Australia, Germany and many other countries.  Adieu, great star.  Your memory lives forever.
