To our dearest Mummy Bose

We cannot believe you are no longer here... that you have left us, particularly your best friend of over 60 years Mummy Adegboyega.

I remember the love you showed to us, particularly when you came to London where you and Mummy would be staying all hours talking about the good old days, laughing and just enjoying each others presence.

You were a second mother to me and my siblings, always providing advice and beauty tips!! , but most importantly showing your wisdom and unwavering love for God.

I cant believe you have left us, but joyful that you are in the arms of the Almighty smiling down on us.

Till we meet again, enjoy and rest well in the arms of our Lord.

With love from Dupe.xxcx

With loving memories of our beloved Mummy Oke, I knew you as my Mother’s right hand woman aka Besto for over fifty years. It was a joy to see the bond, love, hear all the gists between both of you and to cherish the close relationship over the decades.
Whilst I still remain in rude shock of your sudden death merely four hours after receiving a WhatsApp message from you and in numb over your sudden departure to glory few months after the glorious transition of my Mum, I am thankful to God for the fulfilling and exemplary life you lived.

Mummy Oke, you were a jewel of inestimable value, loyal, and a wise woman after God’s own heart. You emancipated radiance, a good listener with warmth that is thoughtful and sincere with a very good heart. A woman of virtue with strong values, principles and integrity.

You stayed committed to us both at the passing of my Dad and recently my Mum, you constantly checked in, gave me hope and stood steadily by us, I sincerely appreciate you and I remain eternally grateful for all your unwavering love, support and care for my entire nuclear and extended family.

Thank you for the memories, continue to rest in God’s Bossom.

Adieu, Sun re o

Yours,

It came as a rude shock when I heard about your passing mummy. Mother of all nations, a selfless, caring, kind and loving mother to your 3 children and everyone of us that came in contact with you. You took us all in like we were your own. I am glad that I took the decision to take an improtu trip to Lagos last December and made time to visit you a few days before Christmas. There, we were joking and laughing as we always do with you. I never knew that would be the last time Akin and I will see you. We love you but God loves you more. We cannot question the unquestionable God, but we take solace in the fond memories and legacy you have left behind. "Iyawo ijebu" as I fondly call you, your "omo ijebu" misses you sooooo much it hurts. When I asked you when you will be visiting us in UK back in December, your response was, "E fi owo di ilu yin mu, you will check in with us via wassap video" little did I know it was probably your way of bidding us farewell at the time. Hhmmmm! It is well. I pray that the lord grant you eternal rest, fill the void created by your demise and strengthen all the loved ones you left behind.

My dear mummy, you were active and so full of life till your last day on earth. Who could have known it would be this soon!! You were so true to your star sign- Sagittarius . You were very selfless and had so much love to give. G-ma as I fondly called you. You played your role as a mother-in- Love and also filled the gap for my departed mother both in my life and my children’s lives. You always tried your best to do what you believed to be morally right. Abiyamo tooto!! You always came to England yearly to spend time with and spoil your grandchildren. I once asked you why spent all these money yearly to come abroad and you answered “ I want my grandchildren to know me well enough so they will miss me when I am gone” You truly were a blessing to all of us G-Ma. The only true grandparent my children ever had. Death you are so wicked !
Who are we to question God? Thank you Gma for raising my husband well and for all the good memories you left behind. Saying you are and will forever be missed is an understatement !! You were so interested in all your children and put us all first. I thank God that you didn’t suffer or die alone but in the arms of your baby girl . My fashionista mama, mama to meto. I pray that I can be the kind of mother and grandmother you were to us and our children. We love you but God loves you more . I remember my last conversation with you and I thank God that I reassured you of my love for you. Sun re o !!

Words are not enough to describe the pain and hurt upon hearing of my mum's passing. I say mum because that's what she was to me for the past 30yrs. I can still hear her call my name in a fond and loving way that totally endeared her to me, offering advice when needed and helping to point me in the right direction. Mum was a strong woman, loving, humane, kind and tribe meant nothing to her. She's no longer with us because she has served her time as ordained and clearly left her mark which will always be indelible.
Rest in peace Mum because you deserve it.

Mummy, you loved me as one of your very own. I can never forget when I came to visit you in Lagos, you drove me back home late at night even though night driving wasn’t your thing. I’ve been deeply touched by your love and kindness.
You were a ray of sunshine, strong, resilient and you loved life.
Rest well mummy, your legacy lives on and you will surely be missed.

It is very difficult to find the right words to express how great a person Mrs Oke was, and how greatly she had impacted the lives of those around her, particularly the message of strength and confidence she sent to all single mothers in the world, on how to hold one's head up high and face life's challenges with dignity!
My name is Soji Taiwo, and grew up as a next door neighbor to Mrs Oke, hers sons Shola and Dayo and her niece Aunty Alake, later the family included Tolu.
Mrs Oke helped in raising my siblings and I like her own children, and made us all appreciate the value of hard work, and had a great sisterly relationship with our late mother.
She is greatly missed by everyone in my family, and we all praise God for a life well spent, and rejoice in the fact that Mummy Oke lived long to enjoy her grandchildren. May our Lord bless her eternally in the mighty name of Jesus!!!

It is impossible to describe how to feel after losing a mother who has also been a father and mentor and who has been there all your life and is now suddenly no more. You put me through education and equipped me with all the necessary tools to traverse this life and coping with its triumphs and inevitable travails. You taught me determination to succeed, independence of mind (some say stubborness), confidence and innate ability to mix and interact with all. We your children and grandchildren are all going to miss your prescence but we take solace in the fact that you've run your race and gone to a better place to rest, no doubt fussing and preparing for when we shall all meet again for our usual December celebrations of your birthday and Xmas as we used to do.

RIP Mama Tolu (originally known as Mama Shola , before becoming Mama Dayo) xxx
