FAREWELL REMARKS - CHRISTOPHER CHIMA NWALOR DEE CC LIVES ON!!

At eighty-seven years, Dee CC as popularly called lived a long fruitful life. We join the Nwalor family to celebrate a life well lived. “We all die.

The goal is not to live forever, the goal is to create
something that will“– Chuck Palaniuk.

This essence of life, he has creditably acquitted himself within his divinely allotted time on earth. He has today bid us goodnight to be in a better place. While wishing him a heap of happiness in heaven, we wish he could look back to see how much the whole family misses him.

In his soft-spoken interactions and attitude to life, he was upright, unpretentious, a non-conformist of a sort, a highly principled person, and relentlessly maintained a fatherly figure. He will be remembered for his passion for education, discipline, and life of contentment. All through
his active life career at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Lagos till his honorable retirement, he remained an excellent case study in integrity, and refused to curry favor – a feat which has been summarily dismissed in our government institutions, with the fast adoption of
corruption as a National lifestyle.

Undoubtedly, his footprints were sharp, bold, and deep and will definitely survive the vagaries of time. The beauty of great minds never dies, it continues to embrace and inspire us. Sweet remembrance of the just /ourish when they sleep in dust. May these treasured memories provide succor and comfort to the sons Chidi, Nkemdi, nonagenarian brother and father-in-law Chief Theo Nwalor, the entire Nwalor family and all impacted by the
transition. May the humble soul of our beloved Dee CC rest in peace and rise in glory on the resurrection morning.

On behalf of the Nwagwu family, we convey our deepest sympathies.

MR. INTEGRITY GOES HOME

DE C.C. AS HE WAS FONDLY called BY HIS YOUNGER ONES, WAS SEEN IN MY CHILDHOOD DAYS AS A GENIUS. HE WAS ALWAYS CELEBRATED BECAUSE HE ALWAYS PASSED HIS EXAMINATIONS IN FLYING COLOURS. {IN THOSE DAYS
PARENTS FIRE GUNS TO HONOUR THEIR CHILDREN WHO PASSED 'CAMBRIDGE' EXAMS ie STANDARD 6.

MY SECOND PHASE OF THIS MAN WAS WHEN I WAS IN ORPHANHOOD SOJOURN AT NRI-UKWU, THE DAY 27 MAY, 1967, NNE NWAEKEIMO JANET ONWUKWE ORDERED HER CHILDREN, FRANCIS, BONIFACE AND MARK NOT TO RETURN TO NRI WITHOUT ME. SO AFTER INTERMENT OF MY MOTHER, I WAS TRICKED TO NRI-UKWU, WHERE I LIVED AT ONWUKWE ODIMBA'S FAMILY FOR 30 YEARS. ONE DAY I SAW DE C C IN ONWUKWE'S COMPOUND
COMING TO SEEK FOR MY NIECE'S HAND IN MARRIAGE, THAT DAY I FELT LIKE HAVING RETURNED TO OGBOR TO THE EXTENT THAT I SAT WITH OGBOR PEOPLE DURING DOWRY PAYMENT.

DE CC NEVER JOKED WITH ME, EVEN IN HIS SICK BED HE RARELY ALLOWED ANY MONTH PAST WITHOUT CALLING TO KNOW ABOUT MY FAMILY WELFARE, HE IS MR RIGHTEOUS BECAUSE HE IS HONEST.

We could never pervert Justice
He told his truth whether you liked it or not.
He religiously followed his mind
He Would mark you X if you refused to do the right thing.
He was not nepotic
He hated liars
He intervened if danger lurked.
He hated lasciviousness.

De CC, Mr integrity good night. May God Almighty receive
your spirit!!

TRIBUTE

There are no words to capture the essence of the eventful life you espoused and lived, De Cee Cee. Death is a coward whose pyrrhic victory pales in comparison to a life of purpose and impact which you lived. As the soul
leaves the body, your legacies are in the fond memories of our hearts. For a man who stood for the noble ideals of truth, contentment, discipline and fairness, you inspired us to choose good over evil. As you find peace at
the bossom of the Lord, we are inspired by your words and deeds to live true to these ideals. Knowing that the bell tolls for our individual mortalities, we shall miss every moment we spent with you on earth, till we all join
you at the ecclesiastical choir.

Rest in peace.

A BROTHER LIKE NO OTHER

My dear Brother now that you are gone, you're no longer here to share the bond we had together – A bond of love and care. Our mother died at the very early age of her life. We were quite young then. As the first daughter of our parents ("Ada Nwalor" I was then popularly called), I have to play the role of a big sister and a second mother to you until I got married. I remember those days when we were young. I sent you to fetch water, there was a total eclipse of the Sun when Sunlight was totally blocked by the moon in ORIE market. There was total darkness everywhere as daylight totally turned to pure darkness.

You got lost coming back home. I thought I have lost you forever because you were quite very young then and would be unable to find your way back home in total darkness. It was one of the greatest horrible life experiences for me. As your eldest sister, I felt totally responsible for that action. I thought you will not be found anymore and I wept profusely and uncontrollably. To God be the glory, you were found. Today, we stand
motionless, consumed in grief and sorrow. We're gathered here, to mourn and cry. Our questions pointing, at the clear blue sky. Why did you go, why did you leave, Life without you, is so hard to conceive. Our hearts are damaged and scarred severely. We shall miss you, much more than dearly. For having you in our lives, we've all been blessed. But now the time has arrived, for you to rest. We promise to cherish our memories of you. You
shall live in our minds and all that we do.

My "Christo" as I fondly call you, day by day, I think of you. How can all of this be true? I can't believe you're really gone; I still can't accept it, even after so long. Just the thought of you makes me cry. I never even got the chance to say goodbye. Every picture, each and every one of your visits to me since I had a stroke nineteen years ago, I always smell your familiar scent. It makes me think of all of the times we've spent. So many things I never got to say. I never imagined you'd ever be so far away. You were my brother, and I loved you like no other. In my heart you'll always be; I'll never forget your soothing voice. I would take your place if I had a choice. But now I have to let you rest, I miss you with all of my heart. I wish we never had to part.

So now I guess this is my goodbye…
Rest in Peace my beloved Brother

MEMORIAL TRIBUTE FOR A GREAT UNCLE

When I think of the word “reputable “, I think of my uncle
De C.C. Highly regarded and well respected at home,in the
community, and abroad. He strove to impact such
impeccable character to his family and friends. He was
outspoken, honest, high-principled, upright, reliable and
trustworthy. Maintaining good family name was very
important to him. He was our disciplinarian, he had a black
book for bad behavior, which everyone endeavored not to
enter. We strove to put up our best manners around him.
He was also our advocate and wise counselor. When my
brother Daniel and I passed to go to secondary school at
the same time, our dad De Theo his brother wanted to
drop one person. His reason was that he could not afford
to train both together, but De CC did not support his idea
rather, insisted that he send us to school simultaneously.

My uncle believed in honest hard work. He was very
reputable throughout his career in civil service. He was
also very sociable. I was endeared to him. He always called
me Mary! Mary! . We shall miss him dearly, but shall never
forget. We take comfort in his sweet memories which lives
on. Good night De C.C. my great uncle. I know that you are
resting in the lord . RIP ! Adieu

TRIBUTE TO DE C. C. NWALOR - A MAN OF INTEGRITY, GENEROUSITY, COURAGE AND PROGRESS

De C. C, You remain one of the few people in Ogbor Uvuru, who refused to be compromised, no matter what the situation or circumstances were. Your strong believe in sincerity made you outstanding both in your career and in
the community leadership. You were readily available to tell the hard truth. Now that you have gone, who can take your position here?

You were a man of courage, hardworking and strategic. You demonstrated that, with hardwork and good planning, success is guaranteed. "ASUPETE, EDEE"

Your love for your neighbour knows no bounds. This has earned you high respect amongst your kinsmen. With love and generousity, you have been able to reunite your kindred, Umuekeukwa. Always ready to help out those in need. During my father's burial, you opened your door and accommodated many of my guests from Delta State, who spent the night in Ogbor, and ensured they were catered for. We can not forget you in a hurry.

You were always available to give valuable advice to anyone willing to listen. You have definitely earned yourself a place in the annals of great men.

We will continue to miss you, De C. C.

May God grant your soul eternal rest.

THE LIGHT DIMS

As one of the foremost, and arguably the most
prominent of the illustrious sons of Ogbor Community,
your exit signaled the close of an era.

You had amaizing personality attributes which you made
to count while building interpersonal relationships with
people in, near to, and far from your space. The
simplicity, humility, honesty and benevolence you
demonstrated in your interactions with fellow humans
was awesome. To all and sundry you showed kindness
and love that transcended family barriers. You were an
excellent counsellor with top-notch skill and approach.
No doubt the community will sooner than later , yawn for
the rise of another of its own, crafted in your mould, to
fill the void your transition created.

It is trite that we, as a people, show gratitude to The
ALMIGHTY for blessing us with a quality personality
figure and for giving us the grace to live in the life time of
an astounding cynosure.

As we give our final respect and honour to the "Special
One" who journey back to his creator for a rest in God's
abode, I charge those he left behind to strive to sustain
and propagate the golden doctrines and ideals he lived for.

TRIBUTE TO A WORTHY MAN OF TRUTH, PEACE AND A GREAT DISCIPLINARIAN

Days and weeks have gone by, but it is still like a dream to us that our dearest uncle and elder statesman would not be seen among us anymore.

De CC as we all fondly call you, your transition has brought sorrows and shock to me and the entire family you left behind; but what can we do? We are only constrained to accept the will of the Almighty God. We mourn your
departure with grief.

De CC you were an embodiment of knowledge because no one that listened to you without learning a new thing, a great motivator, a man who says and stands by the truth no matter who is involved, very unbiased, transparent,
honest, very meticulous and a very accomplished technocrat who soared from the grass to become the envy of his contemporaries.

A highly disciplined man who exhibited discipline in all aspects of his life.

Adieu great man of peace, rest in peace still we meet to part
no more.

DEE C C - MAN OF THE PEOPLE

Dee CC was a directory of Ndi-Ogbor people in Lagos. He knew everybody's residence. He knew the face and the name of all children of Ndi-Ogbor in Lagos including the toddlers. He took committed interest in the education and wellbeing of every Ogbor person. Dee CC lived in Lagos before the era of GSM phones. But, if you are looking for the address of any Ogbor man in Lagos, ask Dee CC. He will not only direct you to the place, he will also give you route options and tell you the cheapest way to get to the place. In
addition, he will tell you when to meet the person indoors.

Dee CC was genuinely interested in everybody's welfare. He personally sponsored the academic and vocational training of many Umu-Ogbor in Lagos and at home. He was ever ready to assist anyone with ideas, plans and finance. About late 2019, while he himself was battling with his own health challenges at home, he still funded the medical bill of one of our brothers residence in Lagos. I remember when I came to Lagos newly. There was this mad urge to visit him in his office. He was then working in the then
tallest building in Nigeria – the Independence Building – which had 25 floors. But he will not let that happen. However, some days one would find oneself around the building but could not go in. While negotiating new wages,
management and labour unions always dragged themselves to his office for arbitration. Dee CC worked in the Wages Section of the Federal Ministry of Labour, where he had the opportunity to “make it” through “gifts” tossed
at him by labour leaders and company management seeking his favour. But instead “collecting”, he would rebuke them.

He knew all the verses of the laws and handbooks of every company operating in Nigeria. He also knew the letters and spirits, (and even the meaning of every punctuation marks) of the Federal Labour Law. There is one verse he used to refer to as “The Ability to Pay.” This was applied
when companies had been cowed by unions to agree to pay what they cannot sustain. Dee CC will look at the company's audit report for the past three years and their projection for the future and tell the union how much the company can afford to pay. He was a strong advocate of don't get married until you have built a house at home. He will hate you and even visit you, early on a Saturday morning, to condemn your act, if you do otherwise.

The moment you show interest in building at home, Dee CC will interview you, assess your financial capability and personally sketch an “affordable” house plan for you. He also does the QS aspect by telling you how many blocks you will need to complete the house. He knew the cost of all building materials both in Ogbor and at Aba; and employed this knowledge to give you a priced quantities at no cost! Dee CC at all times, had large number of
sandcrete blocks at home, and he will urge you to borrow from his stock if you run out of blocks during construction. I know one young man who, over eighteen years ago, collected more than half of the blocks he used during the construction of his building from Dee CC's stock. But unfortunately, up to this day, he had neither completed the building nor replaced Dee CC's blocks. Strangely, what bothers Dee CC was not the return of his blocks but the inability of the young man to complete the building.

Adieu, Man of the People

TRIBUTE TO MY LOVELY FATHER

Daddy I was shocked when the news of your passing on reached me. I recalled how your philanthropic gesture and passion to help the needy brought you my way.

The pain of your demise will be difficult to leave my heart when I remember how you adopted me and ensured that I had a good formal education. For six years, you paid my bills until I finished my secondary school education which paved way to my being a graduate today.

Papa, you were a disciplined man, full of wisdom and knowledge, a role model to many, a counselor, helper to the helpless and meeting the needs of many. You lived LARGER than life.

We love you so much and wouldn't have allowed you to go back home this time, but God who own you knows the best time to call you back home.

May your gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord. Amen

I Can't Say It All : Your humility and steadfastness as a very highly principled Civil Servant. He also served Ogbor Uvuru meritoriously in Lagos as the secretary of O.D.U Lagos branch. He loved his family beyond words and
dedicated his life to the rise of the NWALOR Dynasty in Ogbor, and left an impeccable legacy in Ogbor Uvuru.

He is fearless in defence of the truth, resolute in enforcing equity and fairness. C C as he was fondly referred to, stood firm in defence of the needy and the helpless. How did I discover his potentials to motivate people? This discovery was made when we put up a proposal to build Ogbor market, C C motivated Ogbor citizens in Lagos and the project was approved and built in the 1970's.

I loved him because he was not one of those who will stick with you as long as things go their way, the self seekers. He was with me all through thick and thin. We benefited greatly from his advice and cancelling.

God Almighty blessed him with a loving and caring wife Elizabeth that stood by him and two wonderful and loving sons Chidi and Nkemdi with his loving and caring Nwalor family .

May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of our Lord. Amen.

TRIBUTE TO DE C C NWALOR

I grew up knowing DE C C NWALOR as my Uncle in Lagos. Very active in the Ogbor Development Union (ODU) Lagos Branch. He was about the most regular visitor to our house in Lagos. He took interest in the welfare of everyone beyond his immediately family.

He hated oppression in any guise and would not applaud ill-gotten wealth. He took pride in the academic exploits of every Ogbor person particularly those of Umuekeugo. He was also a disciplinarian per excellence who would not tolerate any nonsense.

Two remarkable and indelible areas of impact I cannot forget De CC for, are his being a driving force towards the erection of our family house in the village. Secondly, his refund to my Dad of my first term school fees at the CMS Grammar School Bariga Lagos.

My prayer is that every good advice and good seed he had sown in people will bring forth bountiful harvest as a memorial that would outlive him.

Adieu De CC, you have lived a life of impact. May his soul rest in peace. Amen

You were a man of great display of humility and wisdom

HOW TIME FLIES AND LIKE ACTORS WE LEAVE THE STAGE (of life on earth) AFTER PLAYING OUR ROLE

De C C as we fondly called him was a rare gem who came, saw and conquered. He was pious, intelligent, dogged, pragmatic, courageous, respectful, humble and humane.

He was the BRIDGE between the older and present generations of the NWALOR's family. He was the crusader of the unity of the family and equal treatment to all and sundry.

He does not accept elephant ideas/projects and wonderful theories that has no verifiable results. He always believed in ASUPETE EDEE (working with the
available resources).

He was not afraid to challenge the statusquo or be in the minority as long as he stood with and for the truth - He always dared to be different where necessary. He was a wise man whose counsel was like the counsel of Ahithophel.

He lived a very upright life and did not leave liabilities to his children. Most importantly, he made peace with God through Jesus in the later part of his life to secure his eternal destiny.

Papa, De C C, the British man - I shall miss your presence, courage, pragmatism and wise counsel and unique personality. Sleep well, we shall surely meet in the resurrection morning, Good night.

As a star, you shone brighter and brighter from your birth

You were no doubt a colossus of a sort.

reliance, accountability, bluntness and other invaluable
virtues from you. You had always stated that virtues like
these are not taught in any classroom, the earlier we
grabbed them when expressed, the better for us. These
are the greatest of assets you passed to us.

TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED UNCLE DE CC

"In the midst of life, we are in death for that which is born
by woman shall surely die". Dee CC as we fondly call you, is a very principled man and a disciplinarian, one of the
bedrocks of the Nwalor family has answered the inevitable call to join the saints in heaven. You will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Dee CC as a principled man - My uncle hates dishonesty or unfairness. He will always quickly tell you the truth no
ma%er whose ox is gored. Dee CC as a disciplinarian - He
touched our lives in di'erent ways and impacted some of
his values and standards in us, which has helped shape
who we are today. Dee CC as a habitually and orderly
person - I recall my secondary school days at home, when
he visited home. On the day of his arrival, we will clear
weeds in the compound, sweep the whole house and
environs like three )mes prior to his arrival, to ensure
everywhere was sparkling clean. He hates dir)ness and
believes cleanness is next to Godliness.

My uncle De CC cracks a lot of jokes. Most people do not
know this aspect of him. Those days at home when we all
be ready for church service on Sunday morning. Dee CC will make fun of everybody saying "imbia oo - everyone claims to be a Christian that on judgement day he will see how many people will make heaven". Dee CC undoubtedly, you are now in heaven counting the Ogbor people, listening to the glorious music of the Seraphim's. Dee CC ga nke oma, rest in the bosom of the Lord with the departed Nwalors until resurrection morning.

Adieu dede m CC.
