Christopher “Chris” Scott “Slick” Hicks, 51, a lifetime resident of Granville County, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late Garland Laster Hicks.  He was of the Baptist faith and worked for many years for Granville County Schools.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 25, 2013 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Cam Ford.  Burial will be in Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are his mother, Linda Garner Hicks of Oxford, a daughter, Johanna Christian Hicks, a son, Garland Kenneth Hicks and wife Stacy all of Oxford, two grandsons, Landon Hicks and Kent Hamlett.  He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Scott Hicks.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 AM Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at the home.
