I'll never forget the day we met. While you were walking down the road by Wal-Mart here in Polson on your way to the hotel room you and the family were staying in when you first moved here from (Portland?). Oregon.. I remember that. I gave you a ride. And introduced myself. Then I found out we'd be working together in the sporting goods dept. at Wal-Mart, for a good long while. I got to know your wiley ways pretty well. And your sense of humor. And came to enjoy your company far beyond anyone else in the department. Dare I say, in the entire store.

God bless your dear soul,

~Luke~

Three years ago you left a void in our hearts and minds, an emptiness of the deepest kind, a void no one can fill, a void that haunts us still, but the memories of laughter, will keep us smiling for ever after. When we think of you, it is sad, but wonderful too. You were the best friend I ever knew... and I miss you...
RIP Chris, till we meet again

The best friend I ever had, always there to help, be it working on the house, moving or lending an ear to my problems, and giving good advice. Through over 25 years, two states, countless fishing trips, and a million laughs, you were the best. Thanks for sharing your family with me when I was away from my own, But mostly thanks for sharing you. It's been a long two years without hearing that bemused chuckle of yours. Love you brother.

The source of a lot of laughter in our lives. Dad always seemed to be able to make you laugh when all you wanted to do was hide in a dark corner. I still think about you all the time..never realized how many things reminded me of you, or how often I thought of you, until you were gone. I hope you knew how much I (and everyone else) loves you. A true blessing to have had in our lives.

You never said much, but I guess you never really had to. You were an honorable man and a loving father and husband. Our only wish is to join you in Paradise. My only regret is that I didn't spend more time with you. Forever missed. Forever loved. Rest now and pray for us.

You were the father that I always wished I had and I will never forget you. You will live on in my heart and in our children for generations to come. You got everybody all worked up and crying like a bunch of big babies you big oaf! I never knew I could miss someone so much but I know I will see you again some day.

I always wished we had more in common, that I knew what to say. I hope that you like the story I'm writing for you, and that I get all the hunting info you gave me right! I will forever miss your scares and your old man laugh when you thought you were hilarious. Until we meet again, I love you dad <3

The Time Nick Called Dad A Stupid Idiot!

May 18, 2013

It was a dark and stormy night. Well, there wasn't a storm, but we did live in a big scary house that had a big yard and a long treacherous driveway. It was time for Nick and I to take out the garbage. This was scary because I was young and I didn't trust Nick, especially in the dark.

We took the garbage out to the road and made the long trek back to the house. Unbeknownst to us, Dad had slithered outside and was waiting for us halfway down the driveway behind a telephone pole. As we neared the creature lunged from the darkness. I probably screamed like a girl but Nick jumped back and yelled "Stupid Idiot" or something to that effect. Once I realized it was Dad I wasn't sure if I was more scared by the trick or the fact that Nick was about to die! Haha.
