His Life

Gone too soon

February 26, 2021
Chris grew up in Chicago. He attended John Foster Dulles elementary school and James McCosh for Junior high school. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School (CVS) in 1985. He then attended Western Illinois University located in Macomb, Illinois, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1989.

While a student there, Chris was one of the three Founders of his beloved Fraternity, BETA PHI PI. In 1986, Erik A Martin, Ralph Laplanche, and Christopher Woulard established BETA PHI PI on the campus of Western Illinois University to stress discipline, service, academics, scholarship, and brotherhood upon college men. They wanted to be a part of a brotherhood that would uplift African Americans through scholarship and community service. Chris was proud of his Fraternity, which continues that vision today.

After college Chris held several different positions in the private sector as well as with the State of Illinois. He also attended Grad school and received graduate certificates. But his career position was as a Fraud Investigator for the Federal Government. He completed his training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco Georgia and became a certified agent. He truly enjoyed this work and travelled all around the country during the 12 years that he served in this position.

Chris never married or had any children, but he enjoyed all his nieces and nephews and was very active in their lives. He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and was a member of Victory Apostolic Church in Matteson, IL. He enjoyed rich debate and was involved in social justice advocacy. His hobbies included reading, writing, watching movies, and taking care of the family dogs Bentley and Lexxi. Chris was a family man who cherished family activities, conversations, and events. He often wondered what impact he would leave on this world. Surely, he is watching right now and observing the impact of all the lives that he touched.
