"Hey Curti Now", Whenever I heard those words, I instantly knew to respond, "Ow Ow". lol
Unc, you was like a walking ray of sunshine. You was fly, intelligent, funny, and fearless. Coming out of the 80's into the 90's, you set the bar so high for young black men. Me, Twan, and all my friends, you made us believe that we could become whatever and whoever we wanted if we put our minds to it.
As a child, I watched you spring into action to defend my mother, during a physical altercation. You were a real life hero! I chose to attend McCosh and CVS because of you.
As the years went by, and life took its toll on all of us, you and I were able to connect on a different level. I understand why I had to move back home now. I thank you for loving on my children, and allowing me to be there for you. And most of all I thank you for loving me and being an awesome uncle (just like Mike and Gee). I wouldn't be who I am without your heavy influence on my life. I love you Uncle Chris! I'll see you next lifetime.
