Aunt Cindy
Aunt Cindy is a special woman. She always had a hug for me when she saw me and when we emailed or messaged each other, she was always so kind and full of praise. She always made me feel loved.
A fun memory and bond that we have shared over the past several years is about a dessert. The first Christmas after Grandma Grant had passed away, our extended family decided to start having Christmas family reunions. It was by chance that I decided to make my chocolate pudding layer dessert. Little did I know that this was her favorite dessert. She raved and raved and messaged me after the party about that dessert. All the years since then, I have made this dessert for our reunions and have made an extra pan just so she could take some home. Even on the occasions that she couldn't be at the party because she was taking care of her mother, I always made extra so Uncle Craig could take some home to her. She never failed to email me with thank yous. This past Christmas she was able to join us at the party and her and I were able to talk and enjoy the dessert together. I know that she missed her mother that day very much (I'm sure she dis every day.) I had no idea that that would be the last Christmas that I would be able to make that dessert for her to enjoy. I will never go another Christmas without making that dessert in her honor and enjoying a piece for her.
My heart is broken for my uncle and my cousins. It is still a shock that she has left us so suddenly. I am happy for her that she is no longer in pain and that she is reunited with her mother and other family who has gone before her. I am grateful for my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his atonement. Because of his sacrifice and gift to us we will all be able to return to him and be together as Eternal families.
