There isn't a day that passes where I do not think of you. You are truly the wind beneath my wings. I cannot believe that it's already been two years since you departed this earth. I know you are I'm a better place now, but I often wonder why God had to take you away from me. Being so young, I took for granted the short amount of time I was able to spend with you. I love you always. Anisah

The longer our parents stay around is the closer we get to them and the more we miss them. I know for sure that she will live on in your hearts and as the first two lines of the Native American Prayer states "I give you this one thought to keep.I'm still with you I do not sleep". Enjoy your well earned rest.Condolences from Osei Sekou and Akil as well

I will always have very fond memories of Ma Boldon. During my years playing soccer with the Islanders, her support for both of her sons and the team was unmatched. I can still remember her teasing my then four year old daughter Andrea, who is now twenty-eight, about showing up at one of our games all dressed up and trying to walk in heels. My heartfelt sympathy to all family members.

It has been years since I’ve seen Ma Bolden, with her move to Florida---but I remember clearly it was on a flight going to Trinidad for Carnival---Ma was way into her 80’s at the time. I loved her spirit; her family was blessed to have her with them for as long as they did. She has truly fought the good fight, may she rest in peace….

Lives of great men and women, all remind us that we can make our lives sublime, and departing leave behind us footprints on the sands of time. Footprints that perhaps another, travelling through life's solemn main, a forlorn and shipwrecked brother, seeing shall take heart again.Ma Boldon definitely left her FOOTPRINTS on the SANDS of TIME.We will miss you. Rest in Peace.

Though we know death is certain, the passing of a mother remains hard to accept. There is an emptiness and lonesomeness that will last for a very long time if not forever. However, the wonderful memories of "Ma Bolden" as she was affectionately called, will be a source of comfort to all. Our sympathy and love go out to th Bolden family. May you all find solace in knowing we care.

Ma Bolden will always be missed by me-Years ago when Pam and Gerry were living in California Ivisited at a time when I was going through my personal healing-she gave me a book of prayers to read I wrote down a few and to this day these prayers are part of my morning meditation. This is just one: "I cast all burdens onto my Christ within and go free".She has gone to that eternal place-

Teachings....

March 12, 2011

Granny has always shared her words of wisdom with me! One that she told me when I was a little boy; "Never spend your last dollar out of your wallet"! And still till this day I aways make sure I never spend that last dollar.

There is so many more but that is one that replays in my head every single time I open my wallet.

I remember driving down to San Jose to go swimming in Uncle Leroi's pool. She made me feel so "small." She was in her eighties and swimming laps and I couldn't even swim past the stairs! I also loved going to the mall with her and trying on hats.

Peaches and sugar

February 1, 2011

Whenever I went to California in the summer, she would make me peaches and sugar. I think she picked them off the tree in Aunty Marlene’s backyard. I remember thinking it was the best thing since slice bread :-)!!! To this day, I cannot have peaches and sugar and not think of her.
