I grew up seeing you as a loyal friend and mother to Alfie; and effectually as the only grandmother the kids and I knew. You made me fall in love with cooked cabbage :)  It'll never be the same but, we'll see you again, if we live right. Love you. Chika

Simply Redeemed by Brian Courtney Wilson
When I hear this song I think of you Aunt Cleo…
I am a Christian, do you know what that means?
It means I’m far from perfect but simply redeemed
I was bought with a purpose, purchased by love
It’s not a form of religion, but a gift from above..

A piece to share pulled from the Bible of the late Rev. Carl W. LEWIS Sr.

“I AM”
=======
I WAS REGRETTING THE PAST AND FEARING THE FUTURE, SUDDENLY GOD WAS SPEAKING:
"MY NAME IS I AM."

HE PAUSED, I WAITED AND GOD CONTINUED: "WHEN YOU LIVE IN THE PAST, WITH ITS MISTAKES AND REGRETS, IT IS HARD, I AM NOT THERE.
MY NAME IS NOT I WAS.

WHEN YOU LIVE IN THE FUTURE, WITH ITS PROBLEMS AND FEARS, IT IS HARD, I AM NOT THERE.
MY NAME IS NOT I WILL BE.

WHEN YOU LIVE IN THIS MOMENT, IT IS NOT HARD, I AM HERE. MY NAME IS
I AM."

Well before Aunt Cleo’s departure, she knew the meaning of the aforementioned very well. Aunt Cleo lived a very successful and fulfilling life, as she wasted no time on the small stuff - she knew her purpose early on and was able to bargain (The Law of Karma, Cause and Effect) for those she loved. Aunt Cleo devoted her entire life to her family and provided the best of care and spiritual wealth for her love ones.

SO NOW IT’S TIME TO ASK THE ULTIMATE QUESTION: WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU HERE FOR?

Preparation for the next life – Being included in God’s family is the highest honor and greatest privilege Aunt Cleo will ever receive.

We have work to do… search your heart… search your conscious… feel the rhythm of your soul and understand your purpose.

Aunt Cleo was a wonderful and loving aunt, an awesome prayer warrior and had a heart for the things of God. Even though she suffered many trials, she continued to rejoice and praise God (I Peter 4:16). On more than one occasion, she told me "if the good Lord comes and take me home today or tomorrow, I'm ready". Take your well-deserved rest. I love you & will miss our uplifting conversations. Bren

This is a diffcult time for the children and grandchildren of my Great Aunt Cleo. However you can draw comfort from 1 Cor. 15:26 "as the last enemy death is to be brought to nothing". Death is an enemy but we know soon that Jehovah and his son Jesus will bring an end to all sickness and death. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Cleo Wilburn-Lewis was sister to my father, the late Samuel (Junior) Wilburn.  My father passed when I was very young.  My grandmother Rosa (Cleo's mother) raised me in Cuthbert, Georgia.  Even though Aunt Cleo lived in New York during my childhood; I knew her very well.  I saw her every summer when she would come home to visit my grandmother and the rest of the family.  We always had a family renuion every year on the 4th of July which included all of my grandmother's children and their families.  During these times I had the pleasure of getting to know my Auntie very well.

We would have so much fun during this time with all of the cousins getting together.  I can say we all knew each other.  This was something that I looked forward to each year....seeing my family and enjoying spending time with my family.

Aunt Cleo was always a caring and warm person and she always showed me "love".  She always spoke a kind word to me; even when I did something that did not please her.  She helped my grandmother raise me, always to do whatever she could.  She helped me to become the person that I am today.  I am a mother of two and my children adored Aunt Cleo as well.  They both said "Aunt Cleo always showed me love."

Throughout her extended illness, I never once heard Aunt Cleo complained...she continued to thank and praise God....my, my...what a woman of strength!  I will miss you Auntie.

I love you Aunt Cleo!.....your niece Dianne

My Granny Gumms

Shared by Lovely Lewis on November 30, 2010

My Grandmother started to wear false teeth many years ago, and because of this I called her my Granny Gumms :) She would always laugh at me when I called her that and would tell me "Oh go witcha-self", my Granny almost always said that if you got her to laugh:) and her laughter is one of the things I will miss most.

My Granny was always there for me, and her unwavering love and support helped me to stand strong through various storms in my life.  I don't know what I'm going to do without her, I didn't see her much but it was always a comfort just knowing she was there and that I was loved unconditionally...

For some moments in life there are no words, this is such a moment... I love you Granny Gumms and you will forever be missed, be loved, and be honored.
