Rest in Peace, C. Brown, Clifford Brown, Mr. Brown!! You will be truly missed my friend by myself as well as others!! You were one of the first people I met on Tuskegee's campus, August, 1974. Wow!! Almost 46 years ago!! Getting to know you was a joy!! You were a tough football player, however, you were the biggest, sweetest, kindest gentle giant, I'd ever met!! I'll never forget how we loved to listen to music, talk about music, and even tried to sing the music. Your kindness will never be forgotten. You introduced me to your road dog, Tyrone Phinnessee, who later became my husband after Tuskegee. You were a gift to me from God and you will always hold a special place in my heart. C. Brown, you are in God's loving arms at rest! No more pain!! R.I.H.

I haven't seen Big Cliff in years, but I have thought of him often. He was a super human being - always had wonderful things to say to me and a huge support during a few tough times. I'll never forget his smile!

My dearest friend Cliff not only I but, tons of people are going to miss your beautiful smile and heart. I am honored to have had you as a friend and grateful for all the knowledge, friendship, and laughs we shared. The good old days at Norm’s I will always hold close to my heart, and you C was a massive part of those times. So many times, you picked up and helped so many people; it just was not in you to see anyone sad or hurt. There will never be another human with the beautiful qualities you had and the compassion you carried for all people. You were always a great judge of character so great that I remember when my husband and I met and started dating. I insisted we come to Birmingham for you two to meet. I knew that if Tom was a good man and right for me, you would know. Nineteen years later, I am still blessed with Tom as you right away knew he was a great man. Tom send his thoughts and prayers to the family. And I was also honored to have you as a friend.
I say friend, but let us face it C you were and always will be considered family to Tom and I as I am sure countless numbers of other people as your beautiful smile and witty personality touched so many people’s hearts. I will never forget coming over to Mikes walking in on you, Mike and two or three other men just a crying watching Titanic. I laughed and laughed at you guys for crying, and then, of course, I also cried when I watched it.
You were a sweet gentleman with a tender heart. Who had so much love for your family and all people. I have so many stories. I could write a book as I am sure many others do too. You touched so many people with a ray of sunshine throughout your life.
I now pay more attention to horoscopes because of you; you were always into the signs of what people were and were so knowledgeable about them. It blew my mind that you just loved astrology and shared the wealth of knowledge you had very excitedly. I will always honor you by staying up with my horoscope.
My dear brother, I do hate saying goodbye to you, so I will say I will see you someday in Heaven. I know you are up there now with the hugest smile and are pain-free. Jesus has you now, and he will keep you loved and safe. Please, Jesus, wrap your hands around Cliff’s beautiful wife and loving children during this time. Please, Jesus, comfort them and shower them with love and strength.
I sure will miss our chats and reminiscing – I will never forget you, my dear brother. Tom and I send prayers, strength, love, and peace, to the Brown family. No amount of words will ever be enough to say just how wonderful of a person you were my brother Cliff and how much so many people loved you until we meet again, my brother, much love.
Forever your little dog Z

Met Big C Brown in the summer of 75. He was THE MAN, when it came to home games and HOMECOMING. I remember him spray painting his  cleats GOLD AND RED. Spatted  down and putting a towel on his head, and the chants rang out..SUN GODDESS!! Him and Jesse Bell  would come get me and say Crab take us to the Coop, or take them to Murts..Just imagine C Brown. Gee Boy, Jesse kool papa Bell all in a volkswagon..C BROWN..as Coach Scissum would say..A STELLAR  PERFORMER!! GOLDEN TIGER 4LIFE
