Mrs. Clorine Miller “Lump” Lovelace was born March 28, 1928 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Mr. Maurice and Mrs. Hattie Billingslea Miller. She was the fourth of six siblings. Mrs. Lovelace accepted Christ as her personal savior at a young age and united with the New Harmony C.M.E. Church, where she was a faithful member until her death. She sang in the choir, was a Missionary, and enjoyed praising the Lord.
She was a product of the Troup County School System and attended The Old Union School.
Clorine was united into Holy Matrimony to Archie Lovelace. She was a former caregiver and a retiree from West Point Pepperell, where she was employed for 25 years.
Mrs. Lovelace enjoyed gardening, pruning her bushes, and mowing her yard. She was very special to her family. She loved God and will forever be remembered by her family and her church family.
On Friday, October 21, 2011, Clorine departed this life at Columbus Hospice, Columbus, GA, surrounded by her family and family friend, Mae Slaughter. We wish her eternal peace.
She was preceded in death by husband, Archie Lovelace; a son, Leroy Lovelace, two grandchildren, Tracy Lovelace and Cathy S. Carlisle, three sisters, Alice M. Pattilo, Lottie Gilliam, Rosetta Stephens and a son-in-law, Rev. Raymond Mays, Sr.
She is survived by three loving daughters: Lizzie M. Felix , Elizabeth A. Lovelace, LaGrange, GA; Lauretta L. Mays, Columbus, GA; a loving, dedicated and devoted, son Reginald (Dana) Lovelace, Dacula, GA; sisters, Everlena Anderson, Louise Avery, Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law, Susie James, Edna Lovelace, Chicago, IL; Margaret Sparks, Chattanooga, TN; Gertrude Reed, LaGrange, GA and Jessie Mae Lovelace, West Point, GA; daughters-in-law, Loraine Lovelace, Brooklyn, NY and Cookie Johnson Lovelace, Newark, NJ; twenty-two loving grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, four great-great, grandchildren, a great friend, brother and prayer warrior, Bruce Gilliam, special niece, Linda Jean McMillon, Jacksonville, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; special friends, St. James Baptist Church Family, Mt. Calvary Association, the Banks Family and the Slaughter Family, Columbus, GA.
