I had the privilege of working closely with Coleen during her time at Marsh.
Many a time we travelled up and down the SZR, to and from meetings in Abu Dhabi.

Cococ made the world a better place. She was an infinite source of positivity and light. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Our thoughts are with Mike and Lauren and her extended family,

There is living every moment in life to the full and then there is my sister Coleen. You have given me a lot of laughs and wonderful memories.

With the kindest most caring and generous heart - not to forget of course the fanciest shoes. Wherever I go and whatever I do you will always be by my side.

Love you always Coleen

Who would have thought that when you moved in next door, and we spent hours chatting over a glass or 2 of wine, that our friendship with you and Mike would have been so fabulous. You opened your home and welcomed us into your family. From sundowners, cookup's, brunches, braais, parties to cooking trips in Goa. So many wonderful & hilarious memories that will live in our hearts forever. You truly are one of a kind and will be forever missed xxx

Coleen…. an incredibly caring, thoughtful, intelligent, happy, bright & vibrant woman.

Ian & I feel so lucky to have had you in our lives. Whenever we got together we always had so much fun and the day/afternoon/evening was always filled with lots of laughter, good food and superb drinks!

We have so many fabulous memories of our times together – even Gordon Ramsay would appreciate them ☺

We will miss you so much, but we’ll continue to party on with Mike & Lauren xxx

Where to begin... friendly, fabulous, fun, vivacious, kind, caring, confidante ... the list really could go on.

Had the pleasure of meeting you and Mike 7 years ago and quickly turned into part of our Dubai family. We were so fortunate to enjoy many memorable times together whether it be a ‘foodie’ brunch with a glass of prosecco in hand, a bbq at home or grabbing a quick coffee. Every time I saw you was a complete pleasure and joy, and I’m truly heartbroken we won’t be able to enjoy your company again.

Over the past few months I have been in awe of you. Never complained, acknowledged others are also going through tough times and always noting the positives in life. You were Coleen, and I’m glad I told you many times recently, superwoman.

You lived life to the fullest always planning an adventure whether it was near or far. Although travels further a field have been limited recently you’ve made the most of exploring the UAE. And I know the first overseas destination on your list was a trip back home to see your much loved family and friends.

Above everything you loved in life there is Michael and Lauren. I know how delighted you were to have Lauren back living in Dubai. And Mike - your rock, best friend and love of your life. For all to see it’s clear how much you adored each other.

You will be forever remembered and celebrated lovely lady.

With all our love Paul, Pam and the girls ❤️

Coleen...how can we even begin to express how much you meant to us and how heartbroken we are. You truly were the life and soul with your can do attitude, positivity and determination.

I moved to Whitehills over 40 years ago and became friends with the local quines but my sister and you from then on...oh me what a pair! As the years went on I joined in with your escapades. We survived (but never forgot) the 80’s during which you met Michael, I met Peter and Janis met John and since then became lifelong friends. Our group expanded as family arrived and as The Watts, The Thomsons and The Gibsons we shared many birthdays, holidays, parties, day trips and so, so much more and what a blast we’ve all had!

The Watts moving to Dubai didn’t change a thing - there was just so much more to see and do. When we visited you or when you came home, we made every minute count from epic brunches to the best bbq’s in your garden and with Michael (or Barry Gibb) in charge of Migs Bar there was never a dull moment or an empty glass.

We have the most treasured memories and we were truly blessed to have had you in our lives. We are going to miss you so much but promise to “hud gan” and carry on your legacy of living life to the full.

Keep on sparkling Coleen we’ll never forget you.

All our love Sonia & Peter

You left us so suddenly and way too early – from that first interview meeting to that last call I will remember your consummate professionalism. More than a work colleague, a mentor to some, a coach to others but a friend to all – you will be missed, but always remembered having been such a big influence on so many.

To Mike and Lauren - I cannot imagine what you must be feeling. Everyone here at Marsh is saddened by your loss. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies and condolences.

You were taken without any expectation and your loss has been felt by many so deeply. I knew Coleen through my husband and work. Coleen exemplified life, love, laughter and a belief in seeing the best in everything. I always admired Coleen’s sense of style. She was always professionally presented with an abundance of chicness.

Coleen was a loyal colleague to some and a special friend to many. We were able to create some fun memories outside work. One being the Hawaiian BBQ Coleen and Mike hosted last year for work colleagues and families before lockdown. It was such a special occasion of great food, conversation and in particularly, amazing cocktails! The latter part of the evening is a bit hazy…an indication of a great day!

Mike and Lauren my heart and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

Auntie Coleen - What a blessing and a privilege it was to have you around for my whole life. Like many, your sheer love for life is something I will endeavour to carry with me every day.

I will cherish my sweet memories of you, from our family parties, sleepovers with you, uncle Michael and Lauren, theme park holidays, days away, concerts, our karaoke nights (not sure how you and uncle Michael put up with me and Lauren on sing star every day) and our Christmas traditions when I’d come straight up to yours in the morning to see how good Santa had been to the Watt’s. I’ll never forget the Christmas you and mam gave me and Lauren the same bike (and plenty other pressies the same) and nearly got caught as our suspicions of Santa aka Auntie Coleen and mam grew bigger. In every single memory I have of you, you are as beautiful, sparkly, hilarious and fun-loving as you always were.

You have left a remarkable legacy here with us, you will be forever missed and your stamp on everyone’s hearts will never fade. Until we meet again Auntie Coleen, rest easy ❤️ xxx

So many happy memories and wonderful holidays we all had together. You were never far away from a party and a good time

You were an idol wife, mother and friend. Thank you for for being a wonderful auntie to us and being an important adult figure growing up. Also thank you for being a best friend to my mum and being there for her. Experiencing all the good times with her and sonia , some stories that are too mischievous to reveal to us young ones.

You’ll be missed but forever remembered x

Coleen, a fantastic workmate and the best friend I could have had, always ready to listen and support and ever the smiling, fun loving quine. How she loved life in Dubai, living every minute to the full but most of all devoted to her family. I remember with a smile one day at work Coleen was making a cheese and apple sandwich and me being a country quine brought up on mince and tatties, I couldn't understand this combination but can now vouch for how tasty it is, thanks Coleen. Rest in peace my special friend, keep knockin back the cocktails, I'll always remember you and miss you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Coleen through Lauren. She was the most genuine, warm, caring person and always made time to talk to you. I have fond memories of visiting the family home and Coleen always welcoming me with open arms. She often talked to me about her love of gin and used to talk me through some of her favourites when we used to be sat in their bar room with Michael. My heart goes out to Lauren, Michael and the rest of the family, I am so so sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts, Sending all the love in the world to your family at this awful time. Rest peacefully Coleen xxx

Coco – A beautiful, strong, positive, caring, kind, incredible human.

The lively “Hello” on the phone at whatever time you called, the radiant smile, the Bling, the dash for the exit during lunch and at 5pm …. you left us so suddenly, we did not get a chance to say goodbye. You will be missed greatly and will live with us forever.

It was a pleasure working with you. You were less of a colleague and more a friend. I will fondly remember our hilarious conversations, fruit breaks, impromptu lunch trips and shopping trips, especially the Karama ones.

Gone too soon. May your soul rest in peace, Sunshine.

Deepest sympathies to Mike, Lauren and the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Coleen, when I moved a few doors along the road from you in 1980, we quickly became inseparable. Your house was my house, my house was your house. Our teenage years were a blast, we had a great circle of friends with the ‘quines fae fitehills’.  I think a good description would be hallyracket!

The 2 of us became 3 when my sister Sonia joined our close friendship, 3 became 6 when we married, 6 became 11 as we had our families. We then became The Watts, The Thomsons and The Gibson’s. We have shared so many life events, but probably the most precious was becoming Mums - I’ll treasure the memories for ever.
The shopping trips (fit can you buy for a pound) parties, picnics, bbq’s and holidays - they were always fun filled, you were the definition of life and soul of the party.

We’ve had fabulous trips to Dubai to visit you, Michael and Lauren. You always organised great things for us to do, but the best memories are days/nights in your garden- singing, dancing, laughing, Michael keeping us topped up with gin & cocktails.

Coleen, our favourite song in the early 80’s was Best Years of our Lives, you made sure every year was the best year of your life.

You will always be with us.

Keep on sparkling.

Love Janis & John

I just couldn't write this until today.
What a bright light Coleen brought to every single time we ever spent with her.
There just isn't enough space to write everything but we shared some very special times, quite often in heels and full of bubbles or in some random fancy dress outfit.
A perfect match with her Husband Mike, we had many conversations about marriage, motherhood and of her fight of true grit and determination. She loved being a Wife and Mother so much. She seized every opportunity at work and play. She worked hard and played harder - I loved that about her.
Never missed an opportunity to dress up and was always immaculately turned out - I dont know where she got her eternal energy from.
I will miss her beautiful face, our coffees and especially our nights of song and dance with a fabulously crafted gin or two.
We will always be here for your Mike and Lauren and we shall continue to hike, dance, fancy dress and drink delicious Gins with your name in our hearts.

You asked me to promise to help Mike take care of things should this day ever come, well girl thanks for that :) I will do my bloody best but I cannot promise not to cry for you.
The sky has gained its brightest star. Shine on in true Coleen styley.
All our love - Kerrie, Ian and Murray xxx

The memories made with ‘Auntie’ Coleen over the years will be cherished forever. Whether it was away on holiday or the many hogmanays, she always knew how to throw the best parties, even if it had to be over zoom or facetime. Looking back some of the best times were the little things, like barbecues and picnics together with our three families.

Her positivity over the past few months was truly inspiring and will stay with for me forever. Despite being taken too soon it’s clear to see Coleen’s joyfulness has impacted many people far and wide, and hopefully this can bring some peace to Michael, Lauren and family.

We came to know of the sad news early in the morning today. I’ve known Coleen since her time at Willis and we interacted many times as part of my previous assignment. Coleen and I joined Marsh in 2018 and since then, we always have had an amazing rapport and friendship.

We used to talk about brunches, football and Iron Maiden during our coffee breaks at work. I’m absolutely shattered to know of her passing and I join you in this moment grief. She was an amazing woman, full of life and always smiling. I will pray for her soul to find peace and tranquility.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. May she Rest In Peace.

Om Shanti.

It’s an absolute shock and pain to hear this news especially when you dealt with her in the past. Absolute vibrant and warm person, still remember last year’s road trip we had with her to RAK to meet a client. We had a good conversation about the Scottish culture and a laugh about how I still struggle to understand Scottish accent.

With a heavy heart praying to God to give you all strength to overcome this tough time and very well know it’s easy to say than done. May her Soul Rest in Peace! Amen! She will be missed.

Dear Coleen,

I will start by saying May Your Soul Rest in Peace.

And I believe your soul is flying back to her real home, to the place she always belonged to, to the heaven.
You will always be there, in our minds, hearts and prayers, someone like you can’t be forgotten.

We have met two years ago, but you will live inside me for many years to come, and until we met again.
You might not be physically here with us, but your inner peace will always surround us.

One day I’ll meet you and I’ll tell you about all the funny and crazy stories will happen during Expo.
This huge event that we all waited together, now you are released and no more waiting, but actually you are the one who’s waiting for us to join you. You’ll be missed my dearest, Coleen.

You’ll always be hidden somewhere between us. We’ve all got a little Coleen inside us. You taught us how to be strong and brave and how to smile through the difficulties we face in life. And how to be warriors and win the bottles with a big heart and acceptance no matter what the results are.

That was your last war and you have won the HEAVEN.

Your colleague,

Coleen, there are so many lovely, happy
memories.
Sharing an office at Lifecare I’m amazed we had time to get any work done. I’ll never know how you managed to look so glam before 8am every day.
Our first girl’s brunch together, you were dropped off at Yalumba by Lauren, and worried about going back there for years in case they asked for their broom back.
Boat parties, brunches, after-parties, wine tastings, ladies nights and your garden - always the first on the dance floor.
When you moved down the road to a new broker we’d meet up in the middle of SZR for a sandwich and squeezed in as much of a catch up as we could in an hour.
Always checking up on me and giving me advice, encouraging me and supporting me. Your emails always starting the same, Hello Fit Like!
Holding my hand at Jackie’s memorial.
Giving me lots and lots of baby advice. And names :)
I’m so lucky to have had you in my life for the time that I did. I hope you knew how special you were to us all.
*Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.* ❤️❤️❤️ xoxo
